Do you know what a dhol is?

So the latest member to join Swami is Bobby, he is our dhol player and has been playing regularly with us for about a year now.

A dhol (pronounced, dorl) is basically a two-sided Indian drum that you strap round your shoulders to play, it has a bass-side and a treble-side. It is a traditional Indian instrument used in a lot of bhangra, and as such Bobby plays it live on a lot of our songs.

But anyway, to give me and the other vocalist a quick breather, halfway through our live set, Bobby does a solo. And when I say his solo is sick as hell, believe me, it blows me away every time.

So I was just searching on YouTube, and evidently someone at one of our gigs (judging by what I'm wearing, I recall this gig being last year) has recorded Bobby's solo on a camera phone, and put it up on YouTube. If you watch you'll see me bouncing around on the right in a white shirt and green Makaveli top and our other vocalist is on the left.

Watched it again now, and that's me at the start saying "Bobby is the best dhol player in the whole fuckin world" and then our other vocalist repeats it. lol.

I'd forgotten I'd said that. Hahahahaha. Camera Phones, eh. I bet between all of us in the band we've talked some proper shit in between songs before. I remember at one gig we were about to play DesiRock and my cousin said something like "you might recognise this one from the new fifa world cup game......so.........enjoy football"
