So, I get new promo's from all the labels each week. This week I got the following ones:

Rihanna - Umbrella ft. Jay-Z
Clipse - Wamp Wamp ft. Slim Thug
Bobby (formerly Bobby Valentino) - Anonymous ft. Timbaland
Digitalism - Pogo
Jazzy Jeff - Return of The Magnificent.

I listened through all of them, and to be honest, they all sucked.

Then, I got this promo:

"The Urban All Stars Promo Sampler"

and it occurred to me that EVERY SINGLE TRACK on this promo shits on 95% of all the new music I've heard in the last 5 years or so. Here's the tracklist:

1. The Urban All Stars - It Began in Africa
2. James Brown - Give It Up or Turn It Loose - Remix
3. Jackson Sisters - I believe in Miracles
4. Bobby Byrd - I Know You Got Soul
5. Marva Whitney - It's My Thing
6. James Brown - She's The One - Funky Drummer Remix
7. Bobby Byrd - Hot Pants
8. Kool & The Gang - Hollywood Swinging
9. James Brown - Payback - The Final Mixdown
10. James Brown - Cold Sweat
11. Myra Barnes - The Message from the Soul Sisters
12. Maceo & The Macks - Soul Power
13. The JB's - The Grunt Parts 1 & 2
14. JTQ - Theme From Starsky & Hutch- Funky People Mix
15. Roy Ayers - Everybody Loves The Sunshine
16. Maceo & The Macks - Cross The Tracks (We Better Go Back)

man....why doesn't anyone make music like this anymore???

i wish they did...everyone is set on that "mainstream vibe" ..and it doesnt sound so great all the time if u ask me....mid 80's and 90's were good years for music...thats when music sounded best....

No. was the '70s. Rock music shits over everything else.
Led Zep is the best thing that happened to the world, after Bob Dylan :)

But yeah something that I noticed... The beats in Rap are better than ever, but the lyrics are so shitty that they make the songs the worst things ever.
