Snoop has been banned from Australia.

Back in February, when Mr Broadus (thats snoops real name idiots!) last visited Australia, immigration officials warned him then that he could face a ban if he got into anymore trouble.

"He doesn't seem the sort of bloke we want in this country," Immigration Minister Kevin Andrews told Sydney's Macquarie Radio.

"This man has been a member of a Los Angeles gang, and is still associated with it apparently, that's been involved in murder, robberies and drug dealing in the LA area," Mr Andrews added.

Discuss. I agree with the decision. So many ordinary people get denied for so much less. Celebs shouldnt get special treatment just because they are celebs. Rules are rules.

^^^true. his past is too fucked up to really contest this. and if he did get allowed in, he'd probably have to walk on egg shells his whole time there. they'd be on him like a hawk i reckon.

i mean alot of those cases ain't even two years old yet so you can see why they'd be hesistant bout letting him in. dude shit is catching up with him.

That's stupid as fuck.

Do you think they really give a fuck about his past or what gangs he was/is affiliated with? Are you gonna ban people like Jim Jones, Juelz Santana, The Game and others who claim a gang as well? I'm sure there are plenty of other rappers in gangs (or supposedly) who don't have a pretty background as far as guns/drugs and shit. I could see if he got arrested and did all that shit in Australia, but he didn't.. so what the fuck?

Would you let a known criminal in your house? Thats how you have to look at it. I am sure they are not too fond of other rappers with criminal records either.

But this isnt about him being affiliated with a gang. He had been warned about his criminal record when he entered australia before and just recently he didnt contest the gun and drug charges and that was the last straw for the australian authorities.

Who gives a shit? He didn't get in any trouble there. That's what makes it stupid.
Thats like letting a known child molester into your country because he didnt do it specifically in that country. If we went by that mentality then everyone would just steal, rob and murder and change countries.

A criminal is a criminal. No getting around it. if you cant do the time dont do the crime. Just because he is snoop dogg he shouldnt be able to get around the rules.

I know he probably wont commit crimes but rules are rules.

I don't care what way you look at it, it's stupid. If they're gonna ban him from the fucking COUNTRY, I hope they ban EVERYONE who is/was affiliated with gangs and has gotten (or thought to have gotten) in trouble with the law. When someone who lives there gets in trouble, do they just throw them out of the country or what?

^no thats what jails are for in their own country. They just dont want any more criminals coming in. Its what every country does not just australia. The reason they didnt give him a Visa wasnt because of his gang affiliation but because he didnt contest his gun and drug charges. This isnt something they pulled out of their asses. They know he doesnt contest the charges because they were true. And they dont want someone who is charge for possesing a gun illegaly, and drugs in their country. Its very simple and i seriously dont see whats stupid about that. Every country has that same policy. Nobody wants criminals. They usually give celebrities a pass which shouldnt happen IMO.

linx, if you had the same type of rap sheet that Snoop has, you wouldn't be able to get a Visa either.

Now, I don't expect you to realize stuff like this, since you probably haven't left Rhode Island in all 22 years of your life.

Not being able to get a passport and being banned from a country are 2 different things, aren't they?

As for the second part, what's that about?
