Reading a book

I used to read a lot, every 2 days I'd have a new book, even have my own mini library ^_^...but i cant be bothered now...which sucks. :(

Yes. I'd like to write for television. In fact, I want to be the next Joss Whedon.

And what exactly do you want to write for television?

I read a lot and all the time, from urban fiction, to ancient myths and lots of older philosophy based books. I can probably go through a book a day if i'm not doing much else. I love knowledge, love debate and love to read..I'm a nerd, lol.

Exactly, thats what makes me reading books. I always remember this one sentence Pac said: "My mother taught me three things: Respect, knowledge, search for knowledge. Its an eternal journey".

That 2pac quote is wrong, you need to die. :)

I'm currently reading a lot to prepare for some uni tests next month. Not mandatory stuff, but more like brushing up on my knowledge and delving deeper into the bowels of history. Mixing fun with efficiency. As of now, my couch is covered in a stack of books that deal with Middle Agean society and feudalism. A few that address the rise of humanism in the Netherlands (Erasmus, Spinoza etc etc), an extensive history of the Netherlands from 5000 bc to date, a small booklet that shortly deals with the "columnisation" of Holland in the 20's and 30's, an interesting book about the henchmen of Hitler and the main "bosses" of the Third Reich. I've got a good book on Eastern civilizations that I kinda need to finish, although it's not really a book that you "finish".

I don't read much fiction, although Tolkien books I eat like hot cakes. I need to read Dune as well, got that one in my bookcase. Recently re-read Engelandvaarders, excellent Dutch WW2 novel.

Usually I just read the comics from the newspapers, though.

papers for university doesn't count, if that counts I spend easly a couple of hours everyday readin.

Still papers, books, whatever, if you do it for school or uni I don't think it belongs here. I'm stubborn. ;)

Like I said, it's a small part personal preperation for an important but dirt easy test I have to take soon, and large part personal interest. I can lay all those works away tomorrow and still pass that test with flying colours. I'd be surprised if even 0.000000045% of what I read in them will come back in that test, so....

Go away :) I'm an intellectual.

Ok, accepted. lol. Duke reads those books for himself and so it's ok.... but all those other dudes that say they the news or a paper for uni, get out of here.

peace. ;)

Ive read like 5 books in the last 2 weeks about religion and evolution. Im gonna read more in the next couple of days.

Have you read The God Delusion, by Richard Dawkins?

I actually thought about buying it. But then i saw there is no german version available out there. So i thought i might start with something i will definitely have no problem to understand (a german book).

Did you read it? Is it worth to read?
