would fifty be respected more as a rapper if he had'nt got shot back in 2000, I mean, his rapping style and voice changed totally after the incident. If you listen to his earlier work u can actually understand what he's saying.

Good : for street credability/respect

Bad : for Record Labels......they don't want to sign a problem

but really, that's the only reason I feel he was signed......'cuz Eminem found someone with a real story behind there music.....it brings a realness to it.......

he was never respected to begin with. Most ppl who like him are wiggers, and even that doesnt count, but whatever. 50's wack.

Good for record labels because controversy pushes tapes, and that's what record labels care about. Do you really think Interscope gives two shits if 50 Cent is a nice guy if he's making them money?

Getting shot isn't bad for anything unless it does permanent damage to your health. It doesn't make you more or less respectable in hip-hop. It's how you handle yourself afterwards. I think he might have gotten more street cred from some of those ignorant fools out there (which I don't get by the way.. he got shot for saying some dumb shit.. how does that make you more credible?), but it doesn't give him more credibility as a rapper. He handled himself in an undignified fashion afterwards, which is why a lot of hip-hop fans don't respect him.

50 got signed because he was a good rapper surrounded by controversy who was willing to dumb himself down and go pop to sell records. It has nothing to do with being 'real.' It's all about how much the 12-22 demographic will eat him up.

could u be anymore stupid............DRE said himself that he didn't want to sign a problem, him and Em talked to 50 about that BEFORE THEY SIGNED HIS ASS.....but you know that they always do end up signin' them and then there's still problems.....that's why atlantic dropped 50's ass after he got shot 9 times....dumbfuck.....how can someone who dies (after very first gettin' singed)make u any money (long term, big money)....bad for record labels to sign someone like this cuz they might die....but it will help ur album sales...

My response to you is to read my last post because there's nothing else to say to you. You're points hold no water. If record labels really cared about guys getting in trouble, half these cats out here wouldn't have deals. Do you not forget that Eminem was a problem? He pulled a gun on Kim and her boyfriend lol. Granted, it wasn't loaded, but if one of them had a gun they could have easily shot and killed him. Labels don't consider death in signing artists because anyone could die at any time.


I've noticed you in a couple threads now, and I think your best option to be successful on this board would be to just stop posting. That's just my personal opinion though. I mean some people may enjoy your ignorance.

if he wouldnt have got shot he would have nothing to say in GRODT so this album would have never happened and he would have never got rich. so it helped a lot his career the fact that he got shot.
