That's bound to happen. It's a problem that has been in the making for decades. FDA needs slashing because they suck. They can't be trusted. I think drugs will still be sold and doctors will continue to have the wisdom to treat people despite the slashing. You know me, I'm all for small government. Who's they? The Republicans won the House and Senate. They won't turn against them. Elon said he'd pour money into a challenger's campiagn for any Repulican who votes against anything Trump wants. We'd have to wait at least 2 years for new House elections, which will totally be fixed for Republicans by then. But Trump faces serious mental decline, IMO. Also, I believe he has a terminal condition, like cancer. He'll never tell us.

Yeah, it was surprising they just slipped the takeover of the house or senate in there. I thought Dems had at least secured one of them and people were somewhat relieved it wasn't total control. But then a day or two ago they secured all three.

I think JD calls the shots this time around. Yeah, Trump looks rough this time around. Not sure what he's dealing with but I expect it's some sort of cognitive decline like Biden's second term.

I got a free subscription, for a year, to Perplexity. I've been using it for about a month or so but it's all been casual searches for recipes or explanations on things.

And we haven't talked about AI in a while, which is a social and political issue in itself.

Have you guys been keeping with the technical side of AI? Which engine to use and when? I have options for which ones to use for text and which ones for image generation. It made me realize I've just been reading headlines about "AI" but not realizing that there are different services and each have their strengths and weaknesses and use-cases.

Also, that Tyson-Paul fight was such a dud. I knew it was a money grab but I assumed we'd still see something interesting. I'd complain about Netflix's server issues but I used Streameast, so no complaints here.

I think everyday usage like phone A.I. and internet is fine but the rulers want to put it into everything. they want A.I. to listen to crickets from treetops! to use the tech to kill. that stuff is not worth the nukes.

Nuclear power is the perfect clean power source until things like solar, tidal, wind are able to take over. Burning fossil fuels is only going to increase global temperatures and exacerbate the crazy weather situations we keep seeing. But you guys keep denying it and leave the Paris agreement. It's fine. Renewables have a strong business case and will take over purely from a cost basis anyway

You guys set up solar panels in your home? I've been seeing companies advertise their solar stuff for over a decade now and some houses in my neighborhood have a roof covered in panels.

I just wish I knew how much it cost them and how much energy is captured. And also what the limitations are to what you can use to source energy from all that collected power. Surely not an AC unit lol. But it'd also be useless if you're just charging your electronics with it, too.
