Grammy-nominated US rapper DMX has been taken off life support and is breathing on his own after suffering a heart attack - but his condition remains concerning, his lawyer has said.
The 50-year-old, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was admitted to a New York hospital "in grave condition" after suffering the heart attack on Friday night, attorney Murray Richman said.

DMX's first wife and some of his 15 children are at his bedside, while "a lot of people are gathering at the hospital", Mr Richman added.

I can't believe he's 50. He looked 50 when he had issues with the law in 06 or 07 when he was arrested for assaulting a cop or something at an airport.

Drugs do quite the number on people.

I didn't. As much as I enjoyed his music in high school, I never really followed him outside of music. I don't think I even saw that movie he was in with Jet Li? Or Belly.

It is an eye opening read. He had an awful Childhood it is no surprise he ended up the way he has. Even my Mum read it, came back from work one day and she says to me "fucking hell that dmx had a shit life I get why he is so angry now"
