This is my thread

I find myself listening more to 60s music the anything else now. I might listen to a bit of hip hop but there are only a handful of artists that I care about

Did you end up marrying that one girl? How's the little guy? He must be a teenager now.

A little over a year. I went there planning to stay in Phuket but it actually felt a bit too trashy to stay long-term, so I went to Chiang Mai and really loved it there, despite the fact there aren't any beaches.

Coming back is definitely a tempting choice, since at this point the down payment towards an average home in Vancouver/Seattle alone could easily buy you 10 years of very comfortable life in Thailand instead, even more if you're splitting expenses with your partner. Add the weather, great food and how interesting living there is, and I somehow feel like I'm missing out by not being there, even though I really like it in Vancouver. On the flipside, as a white dude, you never truly belong in Thailand. Life is good, people are nice, but you are always an outsider and it can feel isolating. It sucks to have to choose between completely different lifestyles (and places with largely opposite pros and cons), and commit to one though.

I'm actually surprised that you've moved from Seattle to Nevada and aren't missing PNW. I mean, it's a perfect place to escape the rain, that's for sure.

Yeah, most travelers to Thailand I've spoken to love Chiang Mai and talk about it as their favorite of the trip. I'll have to go back to Thailand and hit it up.

And yeah - the feeling of isolation is the main drawback to living in a place like that but there are ways to combat it - connect with expats, do more to hang with locals, learn language, but nonetheless, steep hill to climb.

Oh so I'm in LA, not Nevada, but yeah, definitely escaping the rain. Seattle got to a point where it was as expensive as LA and the traffic almost as bad but with shitty weather 200 days out of the year. So, it was kind of a no-brainer for me to GTFO and search out the sunshine.

What happened to our TV/Movie discussion thread?

I checked out Ted Lasso this week and found it to be pretty good. Sudeikis is pretty funny and I like his stuff. The whole show had a Todd Margaret feel to it where an American goes to the UK and is brought in under a ruse to do something dumb or pointless. Learned some stuff about soccer I never knew before in the process.

Prime Day was kind of shit. I think the biggest deal was on those Sony XM4 noise cancelling headphones.

VUDU made a pricing error and had the entire series of The Office for $10 before realizing their mistake. But I think a lot of people got alerted to the deal before it could be fixed so those lucky bastards got the whole series for basically $1 a season.

I thought it was pretty good. Another friend of mine is a huge Sudeikis fan but thought the show was just alright, nothing great. Reddit was big on it when it first started, all the way through the end of the season a few weeks back.

Ha ha same here, I met my boyfriend on Tinder he is 30 (7 years younger than me )

I think age gap relationships can work really well. I know some personally and the celebrity couples with younger husbands are some of the cutest couples.

Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman. I love them together. Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes too.

Do you feel unlucky? Lol. You’re a Cancer man which would lead me to believe you probably sabotage yourself.

It looks like you have a very gregarious personality. Even when you’re being an asshole people will laugh it off and still like you.

For Cancer men security is the only thing that matters-they either marry early (Will Ferrell, Tom Hanks) and stay married or they marry later in life to a younger BEAUTIFUL woman (Rob Dyrdek, Dane Cook, Vin Diesel) or lastly....they marry women way below their league. (I’m not calling anyone’s wife ugly)

They’re all very hardworking and clever.

They’re all super sensitive. All of them. I’ve never met one that isn’t. They’ll pretty much write you off if you ever embarrass them. They are the husbands that won’t have any photos of their family in their office because they are super protective and don’t want anyone to judge their wife or kids. One of the reasons they choose beautiful women. They don’t want to be embarrassed by a homely looking wife in public.

I could go on and on? I have a love/hate relationship with them. I don’t know why they always chase me....I usually end up hurting their feelings.
