Official NBA Thread

I actually think the Lakers will be 2 or 3.
really? they don't have the 3pt shooters(except for pope), 4 head cases (mcgee, lance, rondo and supercoolbeas), and they don't have much team chemistry.

a lot of things have to go the lakers way for them to finished 2nd or 3rd and a lot of bad things have to happen to other teams.

It’s just a feeling. Like it’s so unexpected that it’ll work. I don’t know. I can’t back it up with anything honestly lol

From my perspective, just making the playoffs would be a great season for the Lakers. If they accomplish that & get a 2nd round exit I'm even happier.

People say Lakers fans shouldn't complain about the 'tough' playoff drought, but man...5 seasons is a long time.

Jimmy Butler showed up at practice, cussed out the team, beat the starters with the third team, and told everyone they ain't shit without him? #HulkSmash #BossButler #FreeJimmy

The NBA has some of biggest divas in sports. It's starting to trickle down in the to NFL too. I'm all for players' rights and fair treatment by ownership but the hierarchy is just so fucked the past decade. I don't remember the NBA having players demand trades, not ask, and throw a fit over it. The NBA already has such a high turnover rate because of busts and injuries and smaller rosters but they're just tightening that room even more.

Somehow, people embrace the drama that goes on in the NBA. Fans support players and coaches and it seems like the players are still happier in the NBA compared to the NFL. No anthem protests or dropping viewership or threats to the game through injuries. PEDs. I guess they like to keep the drama within the team/stadium. Not a whole lot of them are going around beating their wives either, like NFL, and now, the MLB.

So NBA players have a bit more weight to throw around compared to other leagues but these outbursts and beefs and demands make it seem like owners and coaches are at the mercy of the players. LBJ and the jokes about him coaching, not Lue. Jimmy and his trade demands and outburst. Kawhi and DRose both having distrust in their teams and their doctors in regards to their injuries. lol and fucking Thibs getting tossed around like a rag doll by teams and his players, both.

When it comes to players moving, you gotta respect KD and LBJ and a few others for letting their contracts expire before moving and not raising a stink about leaving and slamming the door on the way out.

Also, in an effort to get this forum busier by having more content, I was wondering if you guys would object to making individual threads for NBA stuff once the season start? I can create an NBA thread prefix that way if it gets busy enough I can sort by that prefix and we can create a seperate forum.

Or would you prefer to just have it in this one thread?

What's going on with players getting technicals and ejected from the game during preseason? Curry, his coach. Beasley, Draymond, Lance almost fighting. It's preseason!

It seems like the NBA is cracking down on a LOT of things this preseason.

Lonzo having to cover up his own BBB tattoo for example.

Bulls get Melo. I remember there was a campaign here in Chicago to bring him here in like 2013 or 2014, when he was thinking of leaving the Knicks. Looks like we finally got him. 5 years later and as a bench bum.

Oh well, that's going according to plan for our shit, rebuilding team. Sign some big name guy to fill the seats and tank the fuck out of the season for the fifth year straight, or something like that.

Then rebuild the team. Get some good talent. Start winning. Then trade the good players and start again.

Our front office is just a trash heap. It's amazing they've been around since Jordan retired. From the Bulls, at least.

There's been a yearly campaign to get GarPax fired for the past 3 or 4 seasons but they somehow keep missing the axe. If I'm not mistaken, GarPax gets to pocket about $700K from the sign and dumb deal for Melo. He won't play a game for us as it turns out and I bet he retires after this unless a contender scoops him up.
