I'd probably have to say the THQ produced UFC Undisputed series with number 3 being the pinnacle of MMA fighting games. The EA produced ones haven't got shit on them.
I haven't played EA UFC 3 so maybe it's gotten better but I doubt it. The other 2 games were so slow moving and there didn't feel like there was any power to the shots. In undisputed 3 you connected with a good shot it felt like you did. Fuck I miss that gameI loved the MMA Undisputed games. They were excellent. The EA MMA games are garbage. I tried them when they were free for a week on Xbox, uninstalled after 10 minutes.
No mention of Tekken?
Soul Calibur - I'm amped that there's a new one coming out soon.
After that, Mortal Kombat.
MKX was great.
I found the controls and gameplay of Soul Calibur to be awful. For me, it's not as fluid or as satisfying as the likes of Tekken.
Maybe you just sucked at it.
Soul Calibur has basically the same fighting engine as Tekken except with weapons.
Hell - Yoshimitsu is a regular character in both and I seem to recall Heihachi in one as well, and they play exactly the same, so not sure what you're talking about.
Yeah, I probably did. I only played it twice with the kids on the ward at work (in comparison to growing up playing other fighting games a whole lot more often).
Trust me - it didn't feel anything like Tekken in terms of being fluid. I think I needed to have played it more often. Yoshimitsu was the fighter I felt most comfortable playing with because I knew his moves but even he felt different to play with.
Do you have a PS4? The new game is dropping in a couple months, give it another shot and if it has online multiplayer then we can have a match or two.
