We all "know" things. But very little people get involved and risk their comfortable life. You admitted that in your first sentence. It's a society problem, like Maggie said... There is no such thing as society. It's a global problem and shows a bleak future for humankind.

I would guess that I earn more money than you. But.... I see the bigger picture and care about more than myself.

It's all about water.

We are struggling to feed the people. Agriculture takes water. We are using more water than we are replacing. The water table is falling in most countries.

It's all about water.

That's why I am a fan of global warming. Free up some of that fresh water frozen at the poles

Reading your posts before this I just wanted to say that what gets me is the whole "now is a bad time to be alive, the future is bleak" attitude. Life is so beautiful, and now is such a miraculous time to be alive. If you can't realize that, you're fucked.

Now isn't a worse a time than any before to live. It's probably the best point in history to live for plebs such as ourselves. 100 years ago, for example, I wouldn't have been going to school and would probably have died young. But... That doesn't mean I am going to bury my head in the sand and hide from the fact that we are lied to by both the Government and the media. I am not as negative in real life, I am just pushing a point, so have gone more to the negative than I normally would.

Hahaha, that was a complete joke. I highly, highly doubt the polar ice caps melting would provide water to Africa.

That said, the global warming we're presented with is a crock of shit.

The climate change might provide water to Africa some day, however. Regardless of what we humans do. Meanwhile we in the north and south might live in giant ice sickle homes.
Our contribution is relatively tiny (we affect the climate in a significant way by releasing energy itself, but all we do is nowhere close to what naturally happens). The climate changes in cycles:

That said, the worst thing about our doings is polluting our air and water and depleting resources (in a very inefficient way) that might be very needed some day when energy from external sources becomes scarce, and same happens with breathable air and clean water.
At least that's the conclusion from my current understanding after extensive research on global warming a while ago.
I wasn't sure what to think, but I found out that global warming opposers are doing a good and very important thing in the end, even if not for the best reasons. Because there are more important issues than "global warming" that arise from things that supposedly lead to this global warming.

No matter what, the future generations are going to think we were self-centered assholes.

Or that we didn't know any better which in some cases is the case. Many people have not been educated properly on what exactly global warming is and what contributes to it and what is simply just a myth.
