Also, The University of Oregon's cheerleaders during the national championship game were jaw-dropping.
Agreed. My cousin went to UofO and still lives in Eugene. Last time I was there we went to a UofO basketball game at the Matthew Knight Arena which is a new $227 million arena that just opened last year, owned by Phil Knight the founder of Nike. I went about a month or so after it opened and they really were going all out, no expenses spared. Shit was crazy. And the cheerleaders were just ridddiiiiiiiiiiiiiculously hot.

I'd love it if the NYT could just cover something without offering an opinion. This Arizona decision is pretty good--best we were gonna get from the Roberts court--and the NYT is all WE WANTED THE WHOLE THING THROWN OUT. What a bunch of babies.

Anybody watch The Newsroom? More like Snoozeroom! LOL I'm kidding it was OK.
Actually, a friend and I were discussing HBO shows today and he mentioned the show. I saw the trailer for it only once and saw Jeff Daniels yelling. It just gave me the idea that it was a comedy. Turns out it's anything but.

My friend said it was good from what he saw of it. I may have to give it a shot.

It's a long show, though, right? I think he said it went over an hour.

So I was reading the tech news just now and Microsoft purchased a company called Yammer.

The reason I mention this is because according to the article, the CEO of that company is a guy called David Sacks. LOL

Instant flashback to one of the greatest threads in StreetHop history. That had to be what, 2005? Remember how we had that massive David Sacks thread and eventually the actual guy came to the forum and was so confused by it all? LMAO.

it's probably sorkin's worst work although i didn't watch that sports one. the pilot was mediocre. there's no magic in the dialogue between the characters like there was in the west wing. it might get better but i don't know.

I feel like all the best shows are on AMC now.

Too soon to tell. I enjoyed some of it. Sam Waterston was great. The cutesy young people in love shit is for the birds. My big question is why make a show about a cable news show? Sorkin seems to rise to the subject (White House, Zuckerberg) but this subject sucks. Nobody likes cable news. And to have the main character an Olbermann stand-in? Ughck. Still, I'll watch again.

he answered that question in some interview, i want to say, but i can't recall what he said. i do think it's lazy of him. every episode centers around a real-life event, so it's quite easy to depict these characters as news-breakers and super smart people when he's got hindsight to work with.

How many times has a pilot sold you on a show? If I try to get into a new show, I find a torrent of the first season and download the first three to five episodes. It takes some time for the story to go. That's how it was with Californication recently, and Big Bang three years ago.

I know the pilot is supposed to sell the show, but I would still give a show a few episodes before declaring it shit. I do, however, hate hour-long shows. I get bored easily, so the comedy better be comedic or the drama better be dramatic. Gonna give this show a download when I get home today.

Anyone have the ratings for the pilot?
