Scientists Stunned, Particles May Have Moved Faster Than Speed of Light

AN Italian physicist at the head of a team that made a cautious but hugely controversial claim that neutrinos may travel faster than the speed of light has resigned following calls for his dismissal.

Antonio Ereditato submitted his resignation before a vote on a motion by some members of his OPERA team that he be removed after tests this month contradicted the claim that the universe's speed limit had been broken.

It's pretty cut throat this physics malarkey.

science acknowledges that but doesn't go a step further and says "it can't be proven that it isn't true, so we're going to say it's true until someone proves otherwise".

Scientists are limited to what can be proven. Just because you can't necessarily prove something, today, right now, by current "scientific" methods or standards, does not mean it does not exist, or will not or is not true.

Current science is just as bought out as religion is.

Science works in mysterious ways.
