Not many drive standard in the USA. An automatic transmission is generally how people drive. Give them a standard transmission and they start sweating like a fat man in the Sahara.

That is true. But every once in a while you find out a little 18 year old white suburban girl is driving stick and you just feel like a bitch around her.

Seriously? Automatics are for women, the elderly and people with 1 foot. I'm glad my parents drive manual, or i'd bitch slap them for being faggots.

When I was in Canada I haven't seen a single car with a manual transmission. It was funny because I forgot that automatics even exist until I got there. It's like a totally different world as far as cars are concerned though.

But like, how are people supposed to text, surf the web, do their make-up, or eat if they have to pay attention while driving? C'mon man.

You can still do all of that with a manual gear box. Although... I gave up manuals when I started buying executive german.

Many of the new cars here are automatic with an option for manual bump shifting.

Automatics are pretty common in North America because while driving standard it's hard to talk, text, drink coffee, and sometimes even read the paper or apply makeup all at the same time.

That's weird. Most people I know in Montreal drive standard. Or if they drive automatic, they at least know how to drive standard. I drive an automatic since I got a decent price for the car (which had amazing mileage) I got, but I can still manage with a manual transmission.
