Yeah. Anyone can print a COA. Plus I couldn't find any info on the company that issued the COA.

All my other autographed items I got directly from the record companies. This is way too cheap anyway. I found a legitimate one, but at 50k I can't afford it. I am still thinking about messaging Dave Grohl on twitter and asking him.

Exactly, if its too good to be true.....

There is a scam website out there that sells loads of fake stuff. they would have 5 'hand signed' guitars by Elvis Presley for about $1500.. it was stupid.

He had been sued by the government but still went on.. He got things from China then had a professional artist fake the sigs.

The funny part was, he would have signed Zijian cymbals by Elvis or some other dead dude that were made AFTER the dude died! lmao
Just google the site to hear the crazy stories people have.

it doesn't really have any intrinsic nor practical value (assuming you won't want to play it since it's a signed guitar). but if you're buying it as an investment, my next question would be what's your expected rate of return and how you came to the conclusion.

I feel like a lot of people buy celebrity shit and never get questioned about it. i'm simply curious about what goes on in the mind of a person who gives a shit about a collector's item.
 
People want a part of someone they think is great; they want to be connected. Who wouldn't want the guitar, if it was just one and you were sure this was it, that Jimi Hendrix created and recorded "Purple Haze" on? I mean it's historic and it would wow people. Plus of course, if you play it, you will be able to play just like Hendrix. I own a comb once used by Justin Bieber and when I use it my hair looks like his.

It's not as an investment. I am just a big fan and like to have certain pieces that have significance. I am not interested in signed photos or anything like that. But I like signed albums and I like signed microphones or instruments. I also think the price of the piece, if legitimate, is unlikely to drop, which is good. It's the same reason I have rare print cds and records. I like music memorabilia. I am not into celebrity pieces, I am not interested in getting my photos taken with the 100s of celebs that pass near me at the airport each year, nor their autographs. But for an iconic figure such as Cobain, I would like a signed instrument.
