What does this mean to you?

In regards to the message of what youve posted:

A couple of minutes ago i heard a story about a young family somewhere in the US. The couple had been together for about 7 years. They had a 13 months old daughter when out of nowhere the woman gets diagnosed with cancer by the age of 25.

Just 2 years ago she lost her mother due to the same illness. So she fights for her life but its getting worse and worse. One day she needs to have a surgery. When she wakes up she realises thats she has not much time left in her life so she asks for one last wish to come true: she finally wants to marry the love of her life!

Within a couple of hours their friends organise the marriage and finally they become husband and wife.

Two days after that, she dies.

To me... It means that we have big ideas as children. That we are caring and sensitive. And we believe as Adults we will be decent people trying to make a difference. But when we grow up, we usually don't give a shit and forget all the good thoughts we had as kid. We are colder as adults.

I know it's fake. It's still funny though. And very poignant for those of us with ADD and who have to take medication for it, like me.

Also, every other character in the comics has always seen Hobbes as an inanimate stuffed toy. So the exploration of the ideas about ADD medications trading ones distractions for focus is a brilliant topic to touch on.

I bet Bill Watterson wishes he DID draw that one.

I also did not know that the one Casey linked was fan-fiction or...just fake. Not by Bill Watterson. I only found out within the last two months or so.

I've been reading these comics since I was 7, multiple times through. Every time, I see another aspect or better understand the comic than before. That's why they're my favorite.

what does it mean to you?

Moving too fast through life and not thinking about anything but what's ahead of you to enjoy the small things in life or see if anyone else has fallen and if they need help getting back up.
