Amy Winehouse Passed Away

My post wasn't meant to disrespect anyone. I'm just saying it's interesting how people are more likely to take extreme stances on issues online. As for Casey being specifically pointed out, he's confessed in the past that he does come off as being more 'extreme' on here than in RL. I'm quite sure Casey doesn't go around Birmingham disrespecting and beating down religious folks now. Also, Casey actually practices what he preaches. But, I'm sure the way some people act on here, it's a complete 180 to what they are in RL.

Like I said, it's not to diss people - its just an observation.

Who pointed anyone out?

My bad, I thought Casey was pointed out specifically cause of his reply. Either way, we can all agree that when Vegan or Atheist is mentioned - Casey is usually involved. Lets not beat around the bush. lol

The media is trying to make her look like a victim now. She was a piece of shit. Just because a piece of shit turns white and stops smelling doesn't mean it's not still a piece of shit. A polished turd is still a turd.

You knew her personally? Or are you basing that opinion from a media representation of her?

Yeah, but those topics are beaten to death, as someone mentioned, yet it seems they're brought up just to elicit a response. And it gets old.

This reminds me that you were the resident troll for a long time.

Troll? No. Trolling is saying stuff and posting things that purposefully piss people off. I got into petty arguments. I'll admit I was immature and that it wasn't too long ago that I was so, but a few things changed, or I made them change, and now I don't get mad over the internet. Well, not often, and certainly not at people I never have or never will meet.

But no, not a troll. I think those arguments provided entertainment. People laughed both, with me and at me, during those ordeals and then it went to far and bans were handed out. We've had our fair share of trolls on here, but I don't I'm one of them. I still contribute to the board for a while before I get banned again.

^You and raywaters are trolling this thread hard. Yes, FlipMo's post was about Ray Waters and You. Let's not beat around the bush.

You should probably look up the definition of "trolling" then.

Pointing out hypocrisy in people's posts is not trolling. Pompous fucks that never get off their high horse are closer to "trolls" than me. Ray, I dunno what he's doing.

Flip, don't beat off inside a bush; do you really think I'm trolling?

Both of those posts seem to be made with the intent to piss people off, which would satisfy your definition.

Also, being compassionate and understanding to a person's psychological troubles does not mean being on a high horse. It means not being ignorant to mental health issues. I'm far from an expert on addiction and depression, but I know well enough not to equate it to weakness. You don't know how people think about things and process the information in these mental states. To be a complete ignorant dick about it is going to rub people the wrong way.

I apologized for the first one and took a different tone. And if I remember correctly, I had posted that picture to lighten the mood and hopefully prevent further personal shots between members. Kinda of a "we've finished discussing this, we all feel differently about it, let's move on" kinda of gesture. I think a troll would have posted a picture further berating Amy. Unless you think I posed that saying that was her.

I think some of you are reading too deep into this.

For what it's worth, Coonie does seem to be more mature now than he was before. Perhaps we're kinda judging him based more on his past interactions on the board than on his current ones? He just had a different viewpoint is all. </my2cents>

My post wasn't about anyone in specific, but I must say it sparked once more from a few posts (Coonie and Ray's) I've read involving the recent passing of Amy. I never actually looked who wrote the posts cause I tend to skim through posts when I'm at work instead of sitting and reading thick and through.
That being said, sometimes, I think people here try way too hard to be assholes, when in RL, I'm sure they're decent lads. Sometimes you can come off that way Coonie, but for the most part - I think you're one funny fucking guy. That first link that Sofi posted was a pretty good example of what I meant, overall though, I'm not really bothered if people have a different viewpoint that may be extreme or against the norm. Trust me, it takes me a lot to get offended.

As I said before - my post was just a general overview of things I notice on the board, it's not a bad thing (personally) as I know most of the people that post here are more than likely down-to-earth cats.

Yeah, like I said, it was an impulse post. I feel deleting or editing it now would be wrong because it's already been said. It may have been assholish, but I certainly wasn't intentionally trying to be an asshole. It was my initial thoughts before seeing the way others reacted to the comments. I could still be an asshole, but there was no "trying" I simply was.

I feel like this with some people:

casey, have you seen that old black lady (usually wears a red coat and a black hat) around Birmingham who goes around the public praising jesus? i think she's become more obsessive about it now and people just laugh at her. its not funny, but her lashing out at people who mock her is... she's quite loud.

Lol trolling? Is this 4chan now?
Anything I say on Internet is exactly what I've said in real life. I agree some people do try to act like hard asses on the Internet, and I do feel for Winehouse's friends and family, it's never fair to lose a loved one, but do I feel sorry for a talented rich bitch who flaunted her problems and paid the price for it? Fuck no. That's karma. She got what she deserved.
I'm a fan of Len Bias but do I feel sorry for him because he overdosed and died? Not at all. He was infinitely talented and wasted it all. I feel sorry for people who die of cancer, innocent bystanders in murders, poverty stricken children, not rich assholes who die of their own stupid fucking habits. All of the guys at my shop have said everything I've said on this subject, in person. It's not a facade, it's my two cents. You don't have to like it.
Call me a troll or what have you, at least I have original feelings and I stick by them. As far as "do I know her personally enough to make assumptions" of course not, but did you know her well enough to argue my assumptions?
Oh and being "militant" means being aggressive in support of a cause - I'm obviously not supporting anything.

There's nothing original about your feelings lol. Most ignorant people feel the same way about those who succumb to drug addiction and overdose.

I remember you deleting me on Facebook because your family would read what I posted. Lmao.

He deleted me because.. eh, I dunno why. I have SH people comment or like my statuses and then friends ask me who the hell I know that lives in such-and-such place and how I know them. I'm just deleting SH people. Well, the ones I don't talk to. For some reason I left them when I deleted real people I didn't talk to a month or so ago.
