It's not so much about the MP but the quality of the camera and the lens. The one in the SGS2 is incredibly good. Actually, it's better than some 10MP cameras I've used.

Samsung plans on selling 300M phones in 2011, big launch ahead

In an interview with the S. Korean Yonhap news agency Shin Jong-kyun, president of Samsung's mobile communications and digital imaging, laid out Samsung Mobile's big plans for 2011. This year the company is aiming (and expects) to surpass its last year's shipments - 25 million smartphones out of a total of 280 million sold with the staggering 60 million smartphones and a total of 300 million phone shipments. That's close to 1 million devices sold a day.

The expected growth in the smartphone segment is quite bold but it seems well backed up by the current success of the Galaxy S II smartphone, which is doing very well in its home country Korea, in Japan, Europe and elsewhere. Also Samsung is aiming to push it even further with the planned announcement of new "noteworthy" Bada smartphones at this year's IFA in September. Also keep in mind that Samsung is in the business with Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 and is rumored to be working on a WP7 version of the Galaxy S II.

Samsung Galaxy Q

Finally, Samsung is rumored to release yet another Galaxy device at this year's IFA expo at Berlin in September. This new Galaxy Q is thought to have a whopping 5.3-inch display and possibly LTE connectivity. No other details have been given but it could feature a SuperAMOLED (Plus or the normal variety) display. We'll have to wait it out and see, but from where we're standing it looks like September could turn out to be an exciting month for tech geeks

i remember the initial plans for the Galaxy Q - it was supposed to be the UK/EU equivalent (or similar form factor) of the Samsung Galaxy S Pro (Epic 4G). looks like they completely changed it. no mention of a qwerty keyboard. don't think they'll include it due to the combination of screen size and swype.

Broke my iphone, going with Android next.

Got a Galaxy S2 in the mail :)

Oh nice. You know it's pretty much like the iPhone since they stole the design from Apple.

Lenovo has released the official press photos of the IdeaPad K1 Android tablet (pictured, left) and the ThinkPad Android tablet on their Picasa account. No details came with these, but we already knew a little bit and can learn more from the photos. The IdeaPad K1 is a 10.1 inch Honeycomb tablet, sporting the Tegra 2 chip and Lenovo's custom skin. Today's pictures show front and rear cameras, custom colors, a media dock, and a keyboard docking station. The ThinkPad looks to be geared more to the business professional with an included stylus and presumably software included to use it in Lenovo's custom UI atop Honeycomb. The ThinkPad also sports four physical buttons as well as an SD card slot, USB, and HDMI ports on the outside, and a Tegra 2 CPU and 1GB RAM on the inside.
We have no idea about pricing or a date, but with the official pictures set loose there's no reason for further secrets. I imagine we'll be hearing more about these in the near future. In the meantime, head to the source links and have a peek at a slew of pictures.

Wow... according to JBQ on the Android team... it's been exactly 1000 days since the G1 came out. We've come a long way.
