yay for 4:3 aspect ratio. It's more convenient on a tablet and it's also the reason why the Ipad 2 looks better next to a Galaxy Tab 10.1, despite the latter being superior. However who needs that big resolution on a 10-inch screen?
And the fact that it's made by Motorola, eh. Xoom wasn't great.
 
And the Asus Transformer which has been the biggest selling non-Apple tablet of the year, worldwide. Know a few people with them and they are incredibly happy with them. Also they are getting an update to Android 3.2 in the next few days which has dozens of improvements to the Honeycomb OS.

That resolution isn't impressive, it's stupid. 10" does not need that many pixels.
 
so ice cream sandwich will combine the tablet and mobile phone versions of the android os. it will be interesting to see what they do with the notification bar. the tablets (running honeycomb) have it at the bottom, and phones currently have it at the top of the screen. the navigation buttons are attached to this bar, and seem easier to use at the bottom.

my guess is that we can choose whether we want it at the top, bottom or side; or maybe even separate the navigation buttons away from the notification bar.
 
Leave it to Apple to take advantage of a flawed patent system. Some of these claims are so broad and mundane, shit is weak.

okay, now that that's in the way.

Any future phone you guys know comin out that's sick with it?

I want one around August, september.

I hated touch screen at first, but the more i use it, i dont mind.

I preferably want something with at least 4G, and am willing to switch carriers.

Galaxy S2 is the best one at the moment. Xperia Arc is cool too - better camera but less processing power.

4G? HTC Sensation 4G.
 
Galaxy S2 is cheaper than the HTC Sensation, right? Also, I'm sure the Galaxy S2 will be available on all networks/carriers. I don't like HTC's 2011 line-up. It doesn't impress me at all this year.

SGS2 might be slightly more expensive (it was when I was looking a couple of weeks ago)
 
SGS2 is cheaper here and also it's technically better. It's getting much better reviews too mainly because it's pretty awesome.
HTC Senstation is just a good phone, a step below the SGS2 at everything but if you like it then go for it.

Sprint just confirmed their version of the SGS2 to be called the Samsung Within. I would get that if I were you.

Should be released at some point within the next 4-6 weeks.

Cyanogenmod reaches the half-million-user milestone

The CyanogenMod user install base has hit the 500,000 mark, according to the stats released by the CM team. This is across all devices, and includes unofficial versions in the numbers. Some interesting totals are 502,364 total installs, 376,066 of which are official while 126,298 are unofficial, or "kangs". We also get a glimpse into the number of installations per device -- you can see the full list at the source, but here's the top five (with install numbers as of Saturday evening):​
They also have a very cool interactive map of installations by country that you'll want to explore as well. While a half-million of anything is an incredible feat, we have to remember that we're just a drop in the ocean, with more than 550,000 Android devices activated each day. We're a pretty happy drop, though. Congrats, CM team!

notice how 3 out of the top 5 phones in that CyanogenMod list have custom UIs by default.

i still wonder how many G1s have CM.
