Soulja Boy Playing "Bishop" In Juice remake

I checked on IMDB. And it gets a healthy 6.7.

But... Most of the reviews are from Tupac fans who would give it 10/10. So it actually isn't that great a score.

Wow, the memories. This is one of my favorite hip hop flicks. I'm also a Tupac fan and I can honestly say when I first saw this movie.. I hated Tupac because he made the "bishop" character so real... A little too real.. Some say Pac's problems started after he made this film...That he was living out the character... Looking back on it now as I'm older I think the character helped him release some of the darkness in his past. I miss Tupac.. When I look at these watered down rappers ... i.e. 50 Cent.. and how he's still around.. It tells me people are attempted to fill the Pac void.. There will NEVER be another Pac.. Please believe it.. Anyway...I watched the move again recently and it's great the music and the vibe and movement of the film is gritty and honest. It really shows how small situations in the hood can become a big problems.. Pac was excellent and raw. Omar Epps was excellent as well.. I love the movie...It never gets old.

So... Who would want to be associated with the above?

I think 2pac would have achieved more as an actor. He was only young and just starting out. I also think he scared directors off with his attitude and poor time keeping in the early days. I think as he matured, calmed down and became more professional he would have been given better roles in better films and wouldn't have been so pigeon holed.

It was straight to video. Not in the cinema. Seems we have different concepts of popular.

Even films like "Don't Mess With The Zohan" get into the cinema.

A movie like juice was never going to get a cinema release in the UK, not in 1990/91. Maybe these days it would with a known rapper in it.

I wrote a piece asking for a Star for Pac on the walk of fame. Muszamil was supposed to be pushing for it. It never happened. And it doesn't look like it ever will.

Gridlock'd was Pac's best movie. I don't think he was an amazing actor, but he had the potential to make it big. What helped him shine in Gridlock'd was having a great actor (imo) playing besides him, Tim Roth. It probably helped his acting surface. I wouldn't be surprised, if he was still alive, that he would have been a top actor.

I mean, he made excellent songs in the beginning, but through time, he could make 3 classic songs in one night.

He was getting more talented as time went. I see a totally different Tupac flow from All Eyes On Me to Makaveli.

The thing about his acting to, is that it seemed like he rushed so much films. If he took his time like typical actors these days and be more professional, like others have said, he would have gotten his Oscar before Denzel, imo.

Marlon Wayans was great in 'Requiem for a Dream' though. So I think he is capable. But always plays the same shit part.

Man, I’m a Tupac fan. I respect Tupac. It’s nothing like that. I would never try to disrespect Tupac—ever. It was just an idea that I had for a mixtape. The movie is just a movie… You had Game who was in Belly 2. You had a lot of different rappers that were in a lot of different movies. I think they’re saying that just ’cause of who I am, it’s Soulja Boy.

In addition, this isn't related to the Juice re-make but they may as well have had Justin Bieber play Tupac

Last year Mark Wahlberg said something that apparently slipped by almost everyone. He compared Justin Bieber to Tupac. As crazy as that sounds Whalberg did say it and it still has a lot of people confused. Back in August of last year Walhberg had this to say about Justin Bieber:

"The world needs Justin Bieber.....Justin Bieber is like the white Tupac. Compared to a lot of people."
