Disorders

for goodness sake, im sick of this.

casey made a thread about children's movies. edouble made a comment about movies in general (it seems). casey's point is what children are exposed to. its light-hearted humour. if no-one responds, no-one responds to the thread. to say he failed is a bit drastic, because he didnt try to achieve anything. he just posted something in a forum.

it seems like people only want good threads and are cynics about anything other than that. we all know that there are a lack of good threads. that means there will be very little activity on the board. a thread is a thread, let it be...

edit: to say casey does that to feel powerful, also works the other way. when people criticise others about the thread they just created - as if they are an authoritarian figure who has to be pleased and makes the judgement of what is acceptable.

Too true Sandeep!

seriously though, we are all users of a music, sports, tech, and a forum which includes any other topical discussion, yet, contributions are frowned upon. doesnt matter how frequent, but everyone should be welcome. Bring back say... yeshua and tupac4life, and there will be mass outbursts against the two - not saying that i haven't been the target of abuse in recent weeks. It doesn't faze me though, because it doesn't amount to anything since no-one here actually knows me in real life, just as such most users also don't know one another in real life. Its common sense that online behaviour is different to real life behaviour. Abuse here is meaningless to me apart from the fact that i consider reading it a waste of time. Just another reason not to revisit because eventually i will leave the forum, perhaps when i get my 10,000 post count - maybe before, maybe after.

people get grilled here for trivial things. such internet thugs.

I'd hate to see how boring a family get together is with some of you. Can't even make fun of each other without people getting hurt and defensive.

People get grilled here for trivial things, yes, but it's nothing new or different from what goes on in friendship circles. In a circle of friends, people make fun of each other and their decisions, what they say, how they look, etc. It doesn't make for a completely healthy friendship, but it's all part of having fun and growing up. Have you ever watched a comedy where a group of friends doesn't make fun of each other all the time? No, and believe me, that's because the shit is real. It's not just a comedy. The point I'm trying to make is that we're not Internet thugs here. We've just taken from what we've been accustomed to since childhood, which is making fun of each other in light-hearted ways and pointing out stupid decisions, and applying them here on the board.

There is no one being "picked" specifically to ridicule. If you feel like you're being ridiculed more than others, it's simply because you're making it easier for others to ridicule you and you have an Internet persona that makes it easier to do so. But I'm willing to bet that this isn't an anomaly. People like Yeshua, Bobby, Sandeep, etc aren't just ridiculed more often than others on the Internet alone. I bet in the real world, people also grill you for the stuff you do. It's evident because it angers you when even online you can't shed that persona of being an easy target.

I accidentally lol'd at this.. but you're right Sofi.. i agree with this completely. I also think certain ppl can't differentiate between when they're deliberately being insulted and when someone is just teasing them. Either way.. *shrug*

HAHAHAHAH

Sofi just mind fucked Sandeep.

Get em boy!
