WikiLeaks vs. Pentagon

I'm not sure if you guys are following the situation between the Pentagon/CIA and Wikileaks. Wikileaks uploaded many leaked classified documents that "belong" to the US government. They are in possession of 50,000 more copies of classified documents and asked the Pentagon to help reviewing them and deciding which ones are appropriate to post on their website. Obviously the American government wasn't very happy about this and ordered a special conference. They demand immediately returning all copies of these documents and removing all trace from the internet as well as destroying all other possible physical copies.

classified in ay field is classified for reason once they become public somebody or some bodys feels the reprucutions

^ Because it's way more serious people first send documents to WikiLeaks, people at Wikileaks review it and then post on their website if everything is legit and doesn't harm anyone in a major way.

They said that they have 500 or so classified documents that they said were "way too sensitive" to be released to the public because they could cause a lot of harm. They're in their possession but not on their website. There are suggestions that most of them concern American military operations, their actions concerning their European and Asian partners (like CIA's operations in Europe), the World Health Organization and some other classified information about the past.

Considering some things that can be found on their website it only makes me wonder what can be "hardcore" enough to be kept secret by them.

I was never into these conspiracy theories but definitely there were some "situations" that had happened in the past that would better be kept secret.

Assange: Rape Charge 'Without Basis' - Sweden issues arrest warrant

(AP) – A Swedish tabloid reports today that an arrest warrant has been issued for WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange on suspicion of rape, and officials said they could confirm "media reports." Assange addressed the report on WikiLeaks' Twitter page, saying "the charges are without basis and their issue at this moment is deeply disturbing."

The prosecutor's office in Stockholm issued a brief statement saying it "confirms media reports that a foreign citizen has been arrested in absentia" but didn't name Assange. "The arrest refers to two separate events, one complaint of molestation and one complaint of rape," the statement said. Assange was in Sweden last week partly to apply for a publishing certificate to make sure the website, which has servers in Sweden, can take full advantage of Swedish laws protecting whistle-blowers.

It looks like now they're trying all the dirty tricks they can to shut up the "uncomfortable man".
