I wouldn't read too deeply into it. It's just a fun pop song that they felt would work well in the context of a Simpsons intro.

For the record, I've yet to meet anyone of the core Simpsons viewer demographic (10-15) who doesn't adore that song. My nieces and nephews sing it all the time.

Her album was terrible but that's another story.

I used to watch The Simpsons. I guess what they are doing now is shamelessly trying to appeal to the younger viewers since their original audience has grown up and either stopped watching cartoons or moved onto Family Guy.

BTW this girls voice is painful to hear. SQUEEEEEEEEEEEL!
