I still remember the day he gave a lecture at one of our local universities here some years back. His take on running for President was really interesting. He spoke so much about the issues pulling Kenya back. Needless to say, the government response to his comments was not a flattering one. I understand why he doesn't want to come back here now that he has the Presidency. Our politicians are crap and he's not going to let them even think he approves of anything they do here. It was rather frustrating for many Kenyans to see him go to Ghana instead of heading this way.

The speech was pretty good, not what I expected though. Ford, Kennedy and Bush (Snr) have all spoken at my uni so he had some tough acts to follow..

I was hoping he would be a bit more 'inspirational' but he talked more about peoples perception of government and why people should be more involved in government etc.. It was a good speech none the less. I liked when he talked about respect for others and how you should expose yourself to both sides of the argument... something people tend not to do.

He was bad ass though when he came in on Marine One.. proper baller lol

^Yeah, he leveraged the opportunity to tackle issues that have been bothering him lately. I think four months ago, he would have spoken about other things.
Did he talk about jobs/unemployment at all? Did he mention the big three in Detroit?

^ Nope not at all, which I thought was really good. Im glad he didnt make it too political but he did take digs at people criticizing him.

I dont think he needed to talk about unemployment because the Governor before him JUST talked politics, unemployment and other crap which got on my nerves a bit.. this was supposed to be about the graduates and she pretty much just talked about the economy like she was giving a speech to the general public.

She praised Obamas employment initiatives that would create 90k jobs in Michigan etc...
