^Honestly, it has nothing to do with the 90's.

It's just the way he was. Dude was VERY sensitive, (like I am). So we show emotions all the time, good or bad.

But no one likes to be in a bad mood, or be fake. So him being himself can easily be categorized as gay because he wasn't afraid of what people thought of him. He was a person of genuine heart and he was very peaceful and loving. It's why his poetry and acting was so great too....b/c his sensitivity allowed him to be very happy or angry.
