Not just that, we knew the Argy defence was suspect at best, but with Samuel out it's really poor.

But also the Argentine offense. Messi was totally selfish as he's been the entire tourney. Useless. Tevez just kept running everywhere. There was no connection from midfield. They just kept running themselves dead into the German defenders who knew very well they shouldn't let it get to a 1 vs. 1 situation. So the Germans swarmed them when it was necessary. And presto, Argentina lost the ball.

Mertesacker and Friedrich are static as fuck. What did the likes of Messi and Tevez do with that advantage?

Exactly nothing.

By far the best team in this tournament. Doesnt mean we will win it in the end though.

The link has been missing all tournament. They need Riquelme. I know I have an unhealthy obsession with the man but what the fuck? Angel Di Maria looked so weak out there also, I haven't been overly impressed with him.

Zanetti needed to be picked. Cambiasso also. Cambiasso and Masch wouldve have been an awesome protection to the back four. Play Riquelme ahead of them, let Messi wander around, you could even play Veron in there also.

Maradona's idiocy cost them more than anything else.

Riquelme wasnt picked because he refused to play after Basile was ousted. a players who seems to have a problem everywhere he goes.

Before a game once, Maradona made a speech to the players. when he finished talking, Zanetti told the other players to pay no attention to what he said. this got back to Maradona. thats what i read anyway.

not sure about Cambiasso. they needed a player like Riquelme and good defenders.
 
Not that it really matters but:

The FIFA eventually gave Sneijder the first goal after looking into it again. What a joke.
 
It'll be interesting to see if they can play this good again in the semi's.

I'm guessing everyone here is counting on a Spain win. There's always "the off-chance", but I don't see it happening for Paraguay.

Argentina just got humiliated.... As Im saying since the beginning ...Argetina team has only 3-4 offensive players, other than that, NOTHING

They played against the easiest teams in the tournament and the first time they had some good one to face, the result was that.

I bet 3x0 in a friendly pool here.

Great match by Germany again... if they continue like that they will be the winners..easily
 
Spain will go out here if they dont get their act together.

they are playing like shit atm. all this slow passing across the pitch is easy to defend against
