Neither Ronaldo or Roberto Carlos have played for Brazil in ages. I dont think either has played under Dunga. There is six months to go to the World Cup so its extremely unlikely that either of them will be in the squad. Roberto Carlos will be 37 next year.

Dunga did say that if Ronaldo does play well, he will consider putting him on the NT. In case you haven't noticed, Ronaldo played very well last year and is still building up momentum towards playing in the WC.

The fact that Roberto Carlos is now playing for Corinthians means that Ronaldo and Carlos both have a chance to show off their goal scoring skills as well as how well they can play together.

Carlos and I share the same opinion:

36-year-old left back Carlos said he hopes that good performances with Corinthians this year could open the door to a return to the national team for the first time since the 2006 World Cup.

"National coach Dunga can keep an eye on me from up close here," said the 125 times capped Carlos.

I think Dunga will hold on to the younger generation. Only a mad run of form will see those two back in the NT.

The Brazilian people I speak to all say no way will Dunga pick Ronaldo because of Ronaldo's influence in the locker room. Which was criticised in the 2006 World Cup. I'm a huge Ronaldo fan but I highly doubt he will make it to the World Cup.

Especially when Deigo Tardelli and Adriano were the top scorers in the same league as Ronaldo. Pato is an exciting player, L.Fabiano is one of the best strikers in the world and then you have Nilmar who has been scoring a bag full of goals for Brazil recently. Dunga won't take 6 strikers to the World Cup. (Lets not forget Robinho either) :wondering:



Playing in the Sao Paulo State Championship is different to playing in the actual Brazilian league where the standard is much higher. So Roberto Carlos will not be picked, a million players can say they want to play for their NT. Doesn't mean they will get picked will they?

Keep in mind that Ronaldo had a weight problem WHILE he was scoring goals. People just wanted him to start playing again, which he did. Ronaldo exceeded those expectations when he helped Corinthians win a tournament last year. He also won an award.

You said it yourself, the standards of playing in the Brazilian NT higher is much higher than the Sao Paulo State Championship. How many of the players on the Brazilian NT do you actually think have the experience to play in the WC? If your math is right, your numbers will come up small. Wouldn't you rather hire someone who you KNOW can deliver, rather than taking a chance on someone with very little or no experience playing in the World Cup?

You could argue and say that everyone deserves a chance to play, but I couldn't agree with you because NOT everyone does.

By the way, this is just my opinion, not a prediction, well not all of it at least...

Defenders: Lucio, Juan, Thiago Silva, Luisao, Miranda, Andre Santos, Filipe Luis, , Marcelo, Kleber, Alex, Adriano, Maicon, Bastos, Dani Alves, Cris, Naldo, F Aurelio.
