Roaches thread inspired this.
In the past few months i've really been listening to underground rock and i'll be ordering alot more unpopular artists albums. Myspace has been a great source for me to find bands i like.

One of my favourite bands is Chump who live in Aus (www.chump.com.au). THey're generally a cover-band but their own shit is just wicked hot.

One that i recently got onto which was just AWESOME, is
canon - which i feel is a radiohead like band.

and
best left unsaid which is a very chilled out rock

I of course listen to billy corgans tracks on myspace as well :D

There a few lesser-known bands that I enjoy very much.

Minus The Bear from Seattle
Moneen from Toronto
The Juliana Theory from Philadelphia

Also.. Pretty Girls Make Graves, The Arcade Fire..

All have a unique rock sound and have a much better sound then most mainstream rock bands these days.

I highly recommend any of these bands to anyone who enjoys rock

The Arcade Fire's album was in the top 20 at HMV, so they're getting a fair bit of exposure. Ditto Pretty Girls. I think TAF are a bit overhyped, but I like PGMG a lot.

Wow.. it's good to see some other people are into Arcade Fire.. and you actually know PGMG eh??? Awesome... i'm happy that some people on this board actually like other music then rap and hip-hop

Cheers

I think the track Speakers Push The Air got some radio play over here, which got me on to PGMG. Arcade Fire were getting a lot of hype from the likes of NME and Pitchfork, so I checked them out.

Hey One.. I believe you... I'm the say way, rap and hip-hop are just another genre, but no where near my favorite by any means.

And Illum.. I don't know if you've checked out any PGMG albums, but the New Romance album and Good Health are both very solid releases and should be checked out by many people.

For a female singer, the band are very good and her voice fits in well with the sound they have developed :thumb:
