As time went by, the demons and vampires became less and less prominent. There are episodes where practically nothing supernatural at all happens.

i have a problem with a lot of buffy due to the effects (although what can you except, it's a tv show not a blockbuster)..

Some of the basic effects were decent. The dusting of vampires I thought always looked cool. I was watching the Season 3 finale, and the giant snake demon looked pretty awful, but they had like three weeks and a small budget to do it.
