Film & TV You Got To Be Kidding

^^There is almost no originality these days. The last original movie to come out may have been Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind. Look at Pirates of The Caribbean, that is a movie that got it's origin from an amusement park ride.

they are also remaking, or as Rob Zombie puts it, "re-inventing" the original Halloween, with Zombie directing it. and the same people who redid TCM are working on doing a Friday The 13th remake as well. lack of originality is hardly a new thing tho. i'd say probably about 75-80% of movies you've ever seen in your life was based on a book or a story of some kind. although this recent trend of remaking classic movies is getting tiring, i mean some movies just don't need to be redone, there's really no point to it

Totally agree man, most recent pointless one for me was The Omen. Never before have i seen such a pointless movie, 1st of all it should be clear that the original is good enough and still significant even today. And 2nd the remake kept the story, only added special effects and changed the death scenes to shitty ones. The remake was poor. Man it angers me lol.

Coming next summer a remake of Jurrasic park!

it's a quick buck selling an old product to a new generation and the old ones that liked it when they were youngers. it's nothing new.

there are original movies being made but you just have to look for them beyond your local cinema

The new "Omen" was good only because it was entertaining, but it nowhere came close to the OG, which was classic.

And actually, I heard that they ARE doing a fourth JP (not a remake, though). Let's hope it's better than that crappy third one.

Lol yeh they are making a 4th one, i actually enjoy the jurassic park movies but yeh the 3rd one was pretty shit. I would like the 4th one to be a return to the original park now it is all ruined, that would be ok.

The only sequel i would like to be made is one to independance day  , word is that it will never happen tho

It's definetly possible regardless of the cast, it will probably happen in the future. If they can make Weekend at Bernie's II then Independance Day 2 surely is possible.

The first Bernie film ruled by the way  ''Rest in peace, Bernie. Please!''

^yeah.. but i dont know i'd feel the whole "we wanna make more money so we're making a sequel to Independance Day" thing throughout all the movie. and the sequel will most probably suck so...

Of course it's possible, Studios tried to make a sequel to Casablanca 50+ years after the original, a sequel to Titanic was being talked about, and there was a sequel to Chinatown, and The Godfather III was made just becasue of money alone. Hollywood simply doesn't shock me anymore, they're desperate to make a quick buck.
