do you like to watch mtv and hear fifty cent speak german?

why the hell do you put german voiceovers on all your shit? i've been in bulgaria for nearly two weeks now and we get a bunch of southern european tv channels and a lot of german ones, and although the rest of southern europe is equally moronic, you germans stand out the most.

on a completely serious note, what do people in your country in general feel towards this? why oh why do you still do it?

and as a side-note; no wonder a lot of you suck at speaking and writing english.

maybe they dub shit because they dont understand english... most of the voice actors are used for the same character in different movies, so you can always associate them by voice... its not too confusing.

this is a crazy theory, but
i think how the german networks stay profitable is marketing by their programming towards germans...

schwarzenegger used to do his own voice dubs for german versions of movies (im pretty sure), since he speaks german. all hail arnold!

yeah but norwegian tv channels arent exactly marketing towards anybody else since we only have the channels here but they still dont dub the shit. and we dont want it to be dubbed, which i guess is the key point here - do germans actually enjoy dubbed movies and television shows?

Lol, of course we do. Didnt know its something special to dub movies and shows. I mean, most people wouldnt understand everything if people didnt dub shows or whatever. I cant see whats wrong with it.

It may have something to do with the translation of the language. In Japan, they often dub movies/shows/interviews in Japanese because it's nearly impossible to keep up with the subtitles due to the fact that there are so many Japanese words for the small amount of English, etc.

I'm not a fan of foreign language films but I would prefer to hear the words instead of reading them. I find that it's harder to pay attention to acting and other things on the screen when I'm trying to read a bunch of text at the bottom of the screen.

In Germany we're using as much english expressions/words as no other non-English country in the world
