Well, that's how our mind functions. That's how the mind of every person in the world functions. It's designed to like attractive people, lol. If guys are shallow, girls are equally. But, girls don't prefer looks over intelligence because guys want hot girls. It's because girls don't value intelligence, as much. Looks can make them happier. Just look at what women in this thread chose, and you'll see more chose looks. If not that, look at one of Amara's entries in her journal. I won't say what it is, because it might be private.

My point: Looks make a girl happier, and it's not because they attract guys, neccesarily.

That's true to a certain degree.

Some do value intelligence its just hard to fine cause a lot are just too dumb to care about it.

But the same goes for guys I mean yes they can appreciate a smart girl cause they are hard to come by but they see a lot of things in a stupid way, I mean I look at a lot of people and cause someone knows how to say something funny, or never looks at life seriously they think that person is smart. That is a croak. That's why people tend to underappreciate intelligence just because its so rare to actually find someone with a reasonable amount if it.

Seeing as you mention me, just let me say, it didnt choose 'body' because I value appearance over intelligence, it's just that ... well, if comparing my current intelligence (if it really exists) to appearance, the former would probably be stronger, so I'd enhance my weak points... Afterall I study politics and law, it isnt like intelligence is something I wont gain over time, but as for attractiveness, that just goes downhill! haha!

Intellegence. The body is easy to change with excercise, surgery etc. But if I had to choose I would want abs like Usher.

It would depend on the individual I would think. Looks can create a superficial kind of happiness, but to be honest I dont think life would be satisfying enough without the kind of deeper understanding that comes from knowledge and wisdom. I've based my future direction on a path focussed on gaining intelligence, whereas so many girls around me havent - being more concerned with the shade of their lip gloss than how best to maximise their intellectual potential... who will be happier in the long run? I dont know, it's entirely subjective. Perhaps as a generalisation, looks can achieve short term happiness whereas intelligence can produce a long term sense of fulfilment and satisfaction... well, at least, thats what I am counting on because if it isnt so, I've wasted my time!
