On campus, there is free wifi (I mention this for a reason). I can access any website from my laptop, but I can't access any messengers. Are they blockng this? Is this possible? if so, please help around it.

i dont think GPRS uses IP's due to non static location, the ip would be of his service provider.

well you can use a proxy thing, we tend to use www.ippass.info

that stops them from blocking your sites and they also cant track what your doing.

Yeah there is plenty of proxie site on the web, we used to use them in college years ago.
