I'm quietly confident the xbox is backwards compatible because in the colony video links i posted they have people playing halo 2 on xbox 360, but there has not been any official announcement

Nice article for comparison, but it won't touch pc for a while in the gaming arena because it is a console..
1. Consoles are designed for T.v's. T.v's screen resolution is appauling when compared with pc monitors.
2. Consoles are new to the online gaming arena, don't have as much players, since xbox and ps2 users can't play eachother
3. PC has more games than all consoles combined
4. You buy a console you get what you get, Consoles life span is usually say 5years. PC's just continue to get better and better monthly, with constant upgrading. Even though you have to be a rich bastard to have all the latest tech.
5. The main reason is you can't patch, or MOD any console game!! so again you get what you buy.
Consoles one big advantage is that there cheap as fuck, and i think these consoles have finally started moving in the right direction, with online gaming(finally!). It's a cheap alternative for a quick and fun fix. Actually racing games are probably more fun on consoles. But first person shooters are better on the pc, since you have keyboard and mouse, and strategy games are obviously better since the detail, mechanics and complexity are fare more advanced.

Xbox Live is the future, its very very popular around the world, and will be even more popular now that its going to be free. Its better than PC gaming because it levels the playing field, everyone has the same hardware so the tech elite wont have an advantage, and also its funner to play with friends sitting around a big TV. I know that when I have people over, we dont sit around the PC screen drinking beer, we sit in the lounge with the consoles and beer and watch TV, listen to music, and play games. I would rather spend $500 every 5 years, thats a %100 a year, for a cutting edge console, than have to fork out for monthly PC upgrades. At last check, video cards here go for about %499 for anything half decent to $799 for cutting edge shit (I was at IT warehouse yesturday.)
Console games will end up looking better than PC games because with PC games, programmers have to code for a vast combination of hardware. With consoles, they only have one specific system set up they have to worry about.
You shouldnt NEED to patch console games, they usually dont have as many bugs as PC games because developers know they cant fall back on patches. As for add ons, you can download extra maps, cars, levels, etc from Xbox Live and this will only expand more and more in the future.
Ill agree that stratergy games are better on PC,but I never really liked games like that, although used to love C&C. I love FPS thats my genre, Im playing through Half Life 2 right now, and its awsome. But like I said, when the friends are around we wont throw HL2 on we'll throw Halo 2 on, its just more fun. So while HL2 is the superior game at the moment, I have a lot more fun playing Halo 2.
It just depends on how you game, I dont really have time to play games by myself, and only do it when friends are around drinking before we go out, and for that, consoles rule.

It prob will happen on the 360, its hardware setup and programming code is similar to the Xbox so it wouldnt be too hard to do.
The PS3 is very diff from the PS2 so it could be more difficult.

Because PC games are more IN DEPTH!, I mean you have more control over everything,, From having more options and control on editing the game, not just this little control pad. Xbox games are usually made for 2 or 3 seperate consoles as well, there arnt' that many xbox only xclusive games. Games are way more in detail, more specs, just better boys.

I never said it was more than 3.2ghz. You were saying it like it was simply one CPU running at 3.2ghz, that is not the case, like I said, its THREE CPUs running at 3.2ghz, with two hyper threads each. That definitely out performs one CPU at 3.2ghz.
Regardless, like I stated, the PS2 is 5 times faster than the Xbox using Sony’s logic; yet we all know the Xbox shits on the PS2 in graphics and performance. The Cell could be 60 times faster, and still possibly fail.

As for the article, things could have changed since 2003, thats all I am saying. Ill wait until E3 for the specs, but, im not saying it wont happen, Im saying I want to wait till its confirmed. I dotn even care about BWC so I dont know why were talking about it, its the lamest gimmick ever.

Sony better make connectivitiy with the psp work because xbox 360 can connect to a sony psp via usb (shows as hard drive)
