Lol at Germany losing to Mexico, Brazil's draw against Switzerland and Argentina's draw against Iceland. How the mighty have fallen. Brazil's game has been really, really embarrassing lately.

I feel somewhat ashamed. The game was embarrassing to watch.

In Poland, people say that the Polish team always participates in exactly 3 matches:
1. The opening match (lost)
2. The "match for everything" (lost)
3. The "match for honor" (usually won, not enough to leave the group phase or maintain any real honor after losing games 1 and 2 to sometimes ridiculously weak teams).

Then the "lessons learned" are kept for the next qualifiers, where Poland performs amazingly well, winning pretty much all games against the likes of England and whatnot, is usually the top of its group, only to, later on, repeat the cycle.

Are you guys seeing what's happening this World Cup? It's a spree of some of the most insanely weird results I've ever seen.

Poland sucked big time, ok. They didn't get out of the weakest group and I was very surprised with how bad they were.

But Germany is out, they ended up as the worst team in their group, after losing 2-0 to South Korea. Argentina lost 3-0 to Croatia and almost got outed by Nigeria. Portugal drew against Iran while Brazil drew against Switzerland, and I'm sure I'm missing a lot of WTFs that happened earlier on. At this rate I won't be surprised if there's some completely exotic team in the finals.

What the fuck at the Brazil game. The second half of that one was the most excitement I have gotten this World Cup, it was great to watch!

Belgium were the machine though, a very lucky one at that, but gotta give credit where it's due - their defense was practically impenetrable. The whole second half was Brazil attacking and Belgium having like 9 players in their penalty area, doing 'no frills', but great job too. Individually, they sucked, but they played the good old German machine against Brazil's hood football, and Brazil just couldn't score. It was exciting, as they were trying for 45 minutes straight, with some great opportunities. Belgium didn't have many, but when they did, things went better than expected for them.

Plus the own goal was hilarius. At first it looked like straight up header into their own goal. I bet the dude's life isn't easy at the moment.

Still, kinda sad Brazil is out. I like watching their games. There's hardly any interesting teams for me to watch left, as I have no attachment to any of the remaining ones. I guess would be cool if Croatia won, as I prefer them over everyone else that's left. South Slavs ftw.

The England Sweden game will be interesting as both pretty average so not sure how that will pan out

I'm in a pool with some friends and picked Belgium to win it, and beat Brazil along the way so I'm pretty excited. If they beat France and go on to win it will be crazy. Croatia seems to be the favorite on the other side unless England get lucky but man those 4 teams are pretty weak. Croatia is pretty good to be fair though.
