World Cup 2010

FIFA have decided that the play off draw will be seeded.

That makes it alot more difficult for us to qualify although we do seem to play better against than better teams.

It was obvious that it was going to be like that... They don't want the big teams to eliminate each other.

Fuck Fifa. How does France's 2nd place count more than Ireland's 2nd place in the qualifications for one tournament.

Platini wanted only 1 hat, but meh... Fuck Blatter.

Fuck, that could mean that we could be stuck with Bosnia ... What else, Fifa would go nuts if all the Balkan countries entered South Africa. We'd turn Africa into a bigger shithole than it already is.

I pray to GOD that we don't get Croatia... As much as I believe that we could match them, I don't want a 4th Balkan War in less than a century.. I'm serious, there will be deaths. Just like in 2000 when Croatia playoffed Yugoslavia.

I've hated Stankovic ever since that day lol...

Also, who's that fucking guy that grabbed Jarni's dick? Remember?

I thought we would have done pretty well for the Euros 2000. Had bad luck.

Oh, it was Mirkovic lool. Stupid idiot

Most were thinking ways to kill one another after the match.

When Serbia won, apparently the Serbs in Knin were running around with 3 fingers in the air. Supporters from Gospic went in there and started whopping ass lol. Licani are insane, I don't fuck with them. lol

I remember that game lol Mirkovic used to paly Juventus right?

I guess what we are looking at is a play off against the like of Croatia, France or Portugal. very tough.

Portugal won't go through. Ill bet on it.

The seeds will be based on the next rankings to be posted on Oct 13 or something, I think.

Im thinking that playing a strong side might suit Ireland better. Ireland always seems to struggle against teams that they are expected to beat comfortably but when they come up against strong sides they seem to produce a better performance. It would also be a good opportunity for Trappatoni to show his tactical nous. I think he'd relish a one off game against stronger opposition.

I have nothing against Asia's places in the World Cup. Lets not forget the seedings count alot, you can't expect an Asian side to do well when they are 4th seeds in a group involving Brazil, Croatia, Ivory Coast for example. But anything it gives a few of these nations who cannot compete with the Euros to actually be in the same playing field, which hopefully will enhance the game in Asia. South Korea and Japan benefited fantastically from the 2002 World Cup.

Nations like India won't ever reach a World Cup due to the poor funding they receive, but still people want to give them less chances by taking away places in the World Cup?

What Platini is doing in the club game for the Eastern Europeans needs to be transmitted to a larger scale to the Asian nations :thumb: The European teams get 13 motherfucking places, This is not the Euro championships.

Then again you can't deny most European nations are far superior to their Asian counterparts.

I agree with you that the balance shouldn't fall further towards the European side, but c'mon. You'd rather see Taiwan or North Korea at the WC over Denmark or Greece or something?

Thuggy has a good point. Qualification for the WC will help develop football in these countries. But the same applies for countries like Ireland and Bosnia.

I'm all for giving them a chance, it's just that it's frustrating for me that the North Koreans will have the honor to be at the World Cup and not Bosnia-H... Then again, I think that we have a great fucking generation coming and that we'll definitely make the next Euro.

I'm hoping that we get in the play-offs first. That'll be a big step for us.

Or whatever left there is of Capetown after the Balkan firms get there. lol

Edit: Dudu got injured again, he won't be available for Kazahkstan ... Bilic called up Nikica Jelavic. I guess he was reading the board and agreed with me :D ... and now Petric is injured. Yay ...

Yes I would rather have Denmark and teams like Bosnia and Ireland in the World Cup, even the Scots. But I'd rather see North Korea than see a European nation fail again like a Poland for example.

Touché.

Anyway, we have the Euro. Euro 2012 will have 24 nations...
