Great movie. Have a look at the trailer.

"Tagline: How can you be found when no one knows you're missing

Plot Outline: A chilling, factually-based, story of three road-trippers in remote Australia who are plunged into danger when they accept help from a friendly local.

User Comments: Superb horror and terror, but harmed by the "true story" aspect.

Trivia: The Director of Public Prosecutions in the Northern Territory asked the film distributor to delay screening the film until after the trial of Bradley John Murdoch, accused of murdering British backpacker Peter Falconio. Murdoch's trial commenced 17 October 2005." http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0416315/

^ It is interesting or rather, scary that they release this while a trial for a similar situation is taking place. So, no doubt British tourists are feeling safe... :S

I'm not one to get scared over movies, but really this one is surprisingly scary. It was horrific in parts, even more so because it was filmed here in South Australia, so it all looks so familiar .... you gotta see it.

that's a weekly thing here in the states. :D
law and order, among other shows, take their show ideas straight out of the paper.

this movie actually sounds pretty good. seems like my type of movie. so is the movie based on the real life events? or did by coincidence, someone make a movie about something that just happend to resemble real life events?

How proud one must feel to be an American then. lol.

Murders happen every day... but "hunting" humans... it's disturbing.

It says it is based on real life events. Watching it though and considering the ending, it's clear portions have created by the filmmakers.

I dont think its any one event... but mostly a mix of crimes that have occured here... certainly parts are similar to the Falconio case. As for the actual 'Wolf Creek crater' broken down car part, I'm not sure... no doubt though, people wont be overly keen on visiting it much after this film!

I think thats what I like about it... things like this can happen here. Australia is that big that people could be brutally tortured and murdered in remote areas and never found again. Your car breaks down, you get lost... there's no one to find you. That is what the outback is like - vast and virtually undisturbed... it's that barren and isolated.

It's based on real life events, although not one particular story, and then by coinsidence something "similar" happened again.

Funny, I was just about to make a thread about how much this movie sucked.

Drawn out, nothing intricate about the plot, no exciting climax, and the ending sucked. There was no closure or surprise. It just stopped.

I wouldn't even recommend wasting your time to watch it on HBO.
