Today is a great day for the world of instant messaging!! The Yahoo Messenger team has been working hand-in-hand with the Windows Live team to allow interoperability between the two Instant Messaging services, making it even easier for you to stay in touch. From the new Windows Live Messenger you can see when your Yahoo Messenger contacts are online and send them instant messages. You can now keep all your friends in one place and IM with them anytime, right from Windows Live Messenger. How cool is that?
Windows Live Messenger users will need to join the Yahoo Interoperability program - You may have problems signing up using Opera and other non-standard browsers. Once you have done this you will need to sign out of Windows Live Messenger and then sign back in.
Yahoo Messenger users will need to sign up to the Yahoo Messenger Beta program. You will be asked to verify your email address and once that is done you should sign out from Yahoo Messenger and then Sign back in to begin adding your Windows Live Messenger contacts.
