Today is a great day for the world of instant messaging!! The Yahoo Messenger team has been working hand-in-hand with the Windows Live team to allow interoperability between the two Instant Messaging services, making it even easier for you to stay in touch. From the new Windows Live Messenger you can see when your Yahoo Messenger contacts are online and send them instant messages. You can now keep all your friends in one place and IM with them anytime, right from Windows Live Messenger. How cool is that?

Windows Live Messenger users will need to join the Yahoo Interoperability program - You may have problems signing up using Opera and other non-standard browsers. Once you have done this you will need to sign out of Windows Live Messenger and then sign back in.

Yahoo Messenger users will need to sign up to the Yahoo Messenger Beta program. You will be asked to verify your email address and once that is done you should sign out from Yahoo Messenger and then Sign back in to begin adding your Windows Live Messenger contacts.

great news for people who use YIM and WLM.

Interesting news. I downloaded Windows Live Messenger a few weeks back but then deleated because it slows down my computer. Did anyone else have the same problem, or notice a decrease in system resources?

they still can't compete with AIM in the states

I know damn right that msn kicks the shit out of aim, however i wont waste space on my 180gb hard drive for it because not a single one of my friends, workers, or anyone other then you guys have it...

I'm almost positive theres no chance msn/yahoo can convert everyone in the states to there chat client. Unless aim keeps fucking up with that Triton bullshit. But even then i dont think people even know about msn, and theyll just deal with AIM becuase everyone has it.
