when u install this does it go into your icon tray in the lower right corner of the screen? and i have some rar files i was told if i install this on my computer it will change them to mp3's can somebody gimme a run down of what exactly i need to do?

A rar is like a zip file, so it won't change into an mp3, it contains an mp3.

Right click on the file and choose "Extract Files". Choose a destination for the files to be extracted to (i.e., where you want the mp3s to be put) and hit "OK".

yeah get 7zip its better than winrar from www.7zip.org its also easier to use u simply right click and click extract here option.

What makes 7-zip better than Winrar? I always thought Winrar was the best extractor found on the net.

thanks for the help i tried it out earlier it says its only a free trial version tho and ill have to payor something after 40 days...

WinRAR is free, and it has the 'Extract here' option.

The more 'powerful' a file archiver, the smaller it can make files. If you're only going to be downloaded .rar files, not making them, you're not going to need a program with a high compression ratio.
