Good. I'm still good with Windows 7, I think it's one of the most successful Microsoft products but I'd like to try Windows 8 too, despite the fact that it's a bit too soon but their financial situation forces them to rush a new release.
If I had to pay for one I definitely wouldn't replace Windows 7 any time soon.

I have an Ubuntu build on my media centre, and a win7 build on my PC. My win7 build is quicker to boot.

Win7 = 30 second boot
Ubuntu = 45 second boot

Very happy with my win7 build

I got to play with Win8 last september when my step dad came over for a family wedding. I still can't forget how fast it was. Boot up was literally less than 10 seconds, and when I say Boot, i dont mean until windows appears, I mean everrrrrrrrrrrrrrything was loaded.

My current PC boots up to windows in about 30 seconds, but loading all the shit takes another 2-3 minutes.

By boot I mean ready to go. I can be on streethop 33 seconds from pressing the power button.

And I have AVG installed.

And my PC is a cheapo that I put together for about £130.

2.7 GHZ AMD CPU
4 gig of 400 mhz ddr2 ram.

I also use this PC to download about 100 gig of "stuff" a week.

Never had a problem with it. And I love the fact I can switch it on before I piss, and after I have finished it's ready to go.

Don't know if it makes a difference, but windows updates are always off. So maybe it's insecure.... But it's fast (to boot) and that's what counts.

I don't play games so have an average 512mb Graphics card.
