Your rant seems to stem from your perpetual need to reassert your position as the dominant figure on an internet website.
Hardly, I dont even want to be an admin, I stepped down, and am only filling in for Caesar while he is out of town attending a funeral.
How does one want to be a dominant figure on an internet website and publicly retire and state he wants no part in any of the operation of it. Doesnt make any sense.
While others joke around about their "net fame" or their board status, you take it seriously and get overly offended when your website or your decisions are questioned, let alone put down.
Congratulations on having a structured layout and pretty graphic design. You really have done a good job with it, but it's outside the scope of the problems and issues being taken up.
And there are problems. For instance, your website has been irrelevant since you changed it to Streethop to promote your business while slowly moving the very thing that made your site popular out of the picture. You went from having the number one Tupac community on the internet to being a second rate hip-hop news site that gets its information from SOHH and All Hip-Hop.
I didnt want to run a Tupac website. I listen to Tupac probably once a year unless his song comes on random. My mind isnt there, so that probably explains it. Im sorry but I dont want to dedicate any more of my time to one mans legacy, I would rather dedicate it to my own, and the culture I belong to. Id rather be involved in a middle class HipHop website than a first class Tupac website, it is more enjoyable. Another reason why this isnt about the netfame.
Regardless, that isnt true at all. StreetHop coexisted with HitEmUp, I chose to run StreetHop and right before HitEmUp was lost I pretty much totally stopped working on it, then HitEmUp was lost. I didnt turn hitemup into StreetHop, they were two seperate entities, only one survived. Not my fault.
No one on this forum, who are the people complaining, give a damn about Streethop.com. We don't stick around this forum to read the breaking news, click the awesome ads, or buy your goods. We're trying to hold on to the intellectual and/or friendly relations that we made when we joined HitEmUp.com.
Thus, no one has been asking themselves what have we REALLY done, and no one will. When your site is gone, I will IM Puff and tell him he has no concern for the disenfranchised, and then he'll call me a socialist. We don't need a thread to do that, even if they do help and facilitate long conversations with a greater mass of people.
So give me my two day ban for talking subversively, and I'll go write my Anth paper.
Regardless, you have not done anything to maintain the site, not now, and not when HitEmUp.com was around, so you have no right to try to dictate who is admin and what happens now. And you dont AM, so there really is no problem.
All the people that just post are great, thanks for doing so, and like you said, you're hear for the relationships. But as soon as people become bossy, and try to tell us what to do or act like we owe them something more than providing them with a place to post and communicate, they can fuck off and like I said, eat a dick.
