Title: Stay What You Are
Band: Saves The Day
Genre: Rock/Alt./Emo/Melodic Punk
Rating: 10/10
1. At Your Funeral - 10/10
The most brilliant song to start an album off with. A song where the singer is mourning a friend. The guitar, drums, bass, lyrics are all perfect. Chris Conley writes a heartfelt song that has popular appeal.
2. See You - 10/10
One of the more upbeat songs on the album. Simple, yet interesting. Incredibly catchy and clever.
3. Cars and Calories - 9.5/10
The song with the most pop/punk influence. The chorus however, slows down. Great all-around song. This song might be the fastest on the cd, but it fits the lyrics flawlessly.
4. Certain Tragedy - 9.5/10
Another upbeat song, and one of the fan favorites. Every instrument flows flawlessly with every word Conley sings. The lyrics are slightly morbid, but the catchy riffs make them somehow seem positive.
5. Jukebox Breakdown - 10/10
The lead singer IS a jukebox. Another upbeat song with catchy lyrics.
6. Freakish - 10/10
The second single and most beloved song from the album. A slow song with some of the most beautiful lyrics you will ever hear. This is hands down the most poetic song I've ever heard in my life.
7. As Your Ghost Takes Flight - 9/10
The weak point of the album. An amazing song, which would be a gem on any other album, but is not on par with the rest of the album.
8. Nightingale - 10/10
Beautiful. One of the most traditionally romantic songs I've ever heard.
9. All I'm Losing Is Me - 9.5/10
A song about getting over lost love. Conley's voice is the most rough in this song, but it fits rediculously well.
10. This Is Not An Exit - 10/10
This is my favorite song from the cd. It's perfect. I don't know one person who would actually not like this song. I don't even know what to say. You have to hear this song. From the first guitar chords, to the fading lyrics. I promise you, that you will love this song. "And all the wasted nights, and empty moments in our lives, flushed away, as we sway with the rhythm." This song is unbelievable.
11. Firefly - 10/10
A close second, to This Is Not An Exit, in my opinion. Another incredibly romantic song, but with punk influence. This song is amazing. "To me, you are the light."
Everything about this album is perfect, from the album cover, to the song order. The production, the band lineup, the instruments, the lyrics, everything. This is easily my favorite album to ever be released. I strongly recommend this to everyone. Please check it out. Trust me, I wouldn't spend this much time writing a review if I didn't want everyone to hear it.
