it's kind of funny that you say all these things about cats, Tru, and yet on the site healthypet.com, which is sponsored by AAHA (the only company that accredits veterinarian hospitals in North America) says absolutely nothing about female cats being in extreme pain when they are in heat. i think they would know if that was the case, wouldn't you? i would also think if that was the case, they would put that in their article about getting a cat neutered, would they not? therefore i conclude that what you said about all that is bullshit. if it's true then why can't i find one shred of evidence to back up what you say on any animal care or veterinarian sites? if you can provide some (or any) proof to back up your claim, i'd like to see it, cuz i dont believe a word of what you said about cats being in "immense pain" when they are in heat.

Carm, I've had cats all my life. I actually own 2 at the moment. Get em spayed/fixed. It's gonna stop him from being in heat all the time, and meowing over and over again. It is agony in a way for the cat since he wants to reproduce, but he can't. Cats go off the instinct of mating to reproduce. Fixing them isn't too expensive also. Many times it's less than 200$, also get him shots for worms or whatever. If you guys never let him out, and he will be a fully domesticated cat, he might be scratching your furniture, if it bothers you guys so much, you can de-nail the front paws, but I don't suggest all 4 paws.

Ask if your curious about anything.
