Why does SH keep lasting?

People seem to see me as a newcomer here. I have posted here since 2004 I used to post under the (shit) name of Tupac Tha Great. I got a name change a few months ago.

Fair enough, i dont beef with people like i used to, but the main reason for this was because of a few members that are now gone. All they did was start shit with people and, in my opinion, were bad for this board. They made the board unenjoyable and i admit that i was actually trying to get banned at one stage. Rukas eventually saw that these members were bad for the board and banned them. As time went on, i started to enjoy this place more. The people that are left here now are all good posters and i get on with them. I like how new members get treated fairly when they join now. No one gives them slack.

Also, i thought that i always posted some good stuff. Its just the beefing that pissed people off a bit.

this was around the time the rep system came back. i can still remember the very first rep i got, it was from Jeremy. so i kept posting and a few weeks late SiGh sent me a pm, this PM changed my life for ever.

Lol, I'd rep you more often but I keep having to spread reps around, but I've been noticing your posts recently and 9 outta 10 of them are madd funny.

Most people that post on this site are laid back enough not to take it too seriouse, its just as it was intended really, to have a small community of people that where like family, plus u have to admit the shit i do to people keeps you all coming back, banned? ya i was banned for like 5 minutes once for helping rukas ban jon.

I have always said i started this internet pimping game when it came to the ladies.

I remember when I joined here I always felt insulted by people here joking, the way everybody talked to each other etc.
I also had a bad time in my life, I was depressed and it really pissed me off. I'm a good guy-type and whatever happens I try not to insult anybody so it was hard for me in the beginning here. For few straight years I've been just reading other people's posts (I had different user names) mostly in 2pac section when it was still hitemup.com. With time I started to post more and more, I think board became more mature, people tend to have more respect for each other (or I became used to distasteful jokes) and I began to like it here.
I still find some people irritating, sometimes I'm surprised by lack of intelligence in some people, sometimes I'm being shocked by how egocentric, ignorant, unkind, unsympathetic or plain bad people can be but after all I met many interesting, good people here and I really enjoy to read their posts. Actually now I think most people here are in some way nice, everybody is totally different here, that's for sure.
I also enjoy learning about different cultures, it's kinda difficult to do here but still I discover about daily lives of people all around the world and different peoples characters from the inside, I learn english, I learn to understand others, I think Streethop is my no.2 place for international experiences after random chinese or mexican people calling me on Skype

Also SH is a place where I see most people trully open themselves. Even when people joke it's still showing them from the inside. Who would go into a random forum and open themselves like they do here? It's the only place on the net where I experienced similar people behavior, and when they do so it also makes me follow them and do the similar thing.
I think it's also no.1 place for telling about problems you and your friends can't solve. I can read about other's problems, as well as get some help from people totally not affiliated with subject without any opinion on it - simply people from the outside. It's really valuable sometimes.

Simply, I really like Streethop. It's my favorite place on the net and I'd rep it anytime.

Seriously. I don't know if we still have it but we used to have a rule about banning people that lower the overall IQ of the board. That's why this place is cool. Lack of idiots.

We are all adults capable of intelligent conversation without feeling the need to cuss others to make ourselves feel better for the most part. Nothing kills a board faster than people cussing others for no reason.
