Why do you keep posting?

Its funny, as i sit here and think about all the years i have been on this site and posting and working my way up the ranks i wonder why? Why do we post here, what benefit do we get from it? A large post count that shows some sort of veteran statis, or is it simply a way to chat and make new friends from all over the world? Or perhaps its a way to be someone else for a little while that we could never be in real life....None the less i continuously wonder why i keep coming back here.
Its not like there is that much new stuff to talk about, you can only reword the same tupac question so many times and you can only blame america so much before you get bored talking to brick walls in the words of wisdom section, and you can only listen to so many shitty wanna be rappers in the audio section and lets not forget you can only talk so much about kobe and the lakers till your fingers bleed from saying he is a rapist and ball hog. Some of you may understand what im saying and others may be like wtf SicC and others of you may be like fuck you and the lakers and america but the bottem line is i think its time for all of you to start paying the server bills for this site so my boy rukas can live a little, if not i think its time he cut you off and make you suffer. Lets face it half you slouches dont do shit but waste Valuable bandwidth. With that said enjoy bitching at me and calling me hurtful names and what not. :thumb:


On a side note those of you that know me and have been her just as long as me know what im saying.


Rukas i love ya man but these kids here dont respect you or what you do the ones that do put in the effort to help but in the long run thats few and fewer these days.

Even though you've been here a little longer than I have, I see what you're saying, although I have the utmost respect for Rukas for giving us all something to do. To tell you the truth, I don't really know why I come here, just something to do I guess. But I don't come here everyday and I hardly ever post, as you can tell by my only 1000 some odd posts in almost 4 years lol
If I had the money, I'd gladly help pay the server bills because it really wouldn't seem right without being able to come here every now and again and see what everybody's up to. Exactly how much does it cost Rukas to keep this going every month? Just outta curiosity.

Eventhough this website was a 2pac site before I have not been to the 2pac section in months. Like you stated SicC, how many times are you going to ask the same question day in and day out?

Most of the old timers know about how Jon, Rukas, you (SicC) have put alot of effort into this but the new kids here don't know shit. Is there a link about the website's history? And yes eventually Rukas will leave and if it is putting Rukas in financial hardship because of the board then close the site down. Simply as that.

Why do I post here? I don't know. I really like to put random pictures here and make people laugh, but at the same time I like to interact with the kids here and see what they think. Most of the kids here I am proud to say are very intelligent.

I donate every year and purchase VIP. What people fail to realize is that it doesnt take much from each member to get a big sum of money. If the active members that post on here all got VIP and donated that would more then likely cover sever cost. Even if it is one or five dollars it will add up. People want to be cheap and use excuses like I don't have paypal or they can't afford it. Buying VIP and donating is not alot of money. If you can't afford that then you need a new job.

So I agree that the members should throw in on the server cost for the entertainment and friends we get from the forum. I post here for entertainment, to laugh, and to talk and make friends all over the world that like some of the similiar things as me.

I post here because I enjoy it. I was gone almost a year, and as soon as life slowed down, I came right back and picked up like I never left. I think that's why a lot of people like it. Because of the familiarity and the comraderie that we have here with one another. I know that no matter where in the world I go, I can always get online and find a friend to talk to.

Not to mention, I've met some people on here, who I consider my friends in real life as well as online. I've met some truly awesome people. How many people can say they have friends all over the world?!?! Not many.

And I enjoy myself, from the serious discussions, to getting help with homework, to the jokes and pranks that keep me up all night following a thread.

I like it here, I like the people, and as long as the board is here, I'll be here too.

I have nothing but respect for all the founders and the people who make Streethop great.

that's the understatment of the year.

Anyway, it's a habit SiCc. I agree I've been here so long that I've seen most Pac threads twice already - so sometimes it IS boring, then it's just time to shut down the PC and focus on reality. After all this is just a habit, I check the board for news like I check a newspaper, but if I'm busy or if there ain't nothing new, I have no problem 2 go without it.

If you were to start banning members from the forum wouldnt that be a negative, the point of a forum is to discuss topics, if there are no members, you have no topics, no topics, no point of a forum anyway, also, judging from our block, and the hip hop forum, most of the members seem to be leaving, when i look around on this forum, theres only a few new topics with the same people in it.

You said people should start paying rukus so he can live a little and if not he should basically ban people, if he took of the forum wouldnt that work against him, also, i dont think punishing some of the members would work seeing as those members are the ones actually posting and trying to generate intrest.

The problem you have is that most people here don't appreicate the value of money. They aren't in the real world and they think everything comes for free, therefore they don't realise that whilst they are posting, Rukas is picking up the tab and are too far removed from reality to want to contribute.

I post here because I'm occasioanlly bored and want something to kill the time. Or I post here to read others opinions and discuss funny, serious, etc topics. Guess it's an indirect way of socialising.

And with the money thing, surely there are forums out there that are larger than this and are free like this? This forum generates some sort of income through merchandise, VIP's, donations and banners. If it's that much of a hindrence, close it.
