say "cock" instead of "coke". So I was standing in a long ass line in burger king in the mall near my "half-asian" college and there was that asian guy buying something next to me. He tried to speak english because he couldn't speak Polish so he ordered 2 big king menus. The worker asked him "which drink would you like" and he said "cocks". He was a bit confused but gave him 2 cokes. I thought it was an accident but on the next day (yesterday actually) I went to the same burger king, got my order and sat down. There's a "Tokyo" restaurant in the same mall and there was another Asian dude with his Polish wife sitting next to me enjoying some meal.
They were eating while she asked him "what kind of drink did you order for me?" and he said "cock". I was stunned. I gazed at that dude to see if it's the same guy I've seen day before but it was not. Totally different asian dude and he said "cock" instead of "coke" too. Poland is kind of monocultural so we don't have many asian dudes here except my school and some vietnamese on the stadium but that doesn't count. So I'm asking.. is it common for asian dudes to say "cock" instead of "coke"? Does it happen oftenly in english speaking countries?
Thank you

hahaha "give me sum cock plz"

yeah i noticed that a few times too

I don't know about that per se, but a few Koreans that I do know (South Korea, of course) always pluralize words when unnecessary. Real life examples include "Hey let's go smoke pots", "I got the rejection letter in the mails", etc.

When i was in Toronto, i noticed that too.

Another example of their pronunciation: "Lets go to the bitch", instead of beach.

I read somewhere that the chinese language is very mono-syllable, each and every word has one vowel sound in it. So they have difficulty pronouncing multi-syllable words.

I went in this chinese restaurant near my block. While I was waiting for my order, I was talking to the woman behind the counter. She gave me a lecture on how her leg meat tastes better than the breast meat she has on her menu.

Same reason any person speaks a foreign language with an accent.

back in auburn, there was a chinese buffet we used to frequent often.. for some reason, they gave you the drinks, not you get your own... so as she seats you, this one chinese lady would always say, 'wa yoo guy wana? waturr o' shwee tee?"

I don't hear that mispronunciation in Japanese people often. But I can image how the O in those two words could crew with people. I know many Japanese people have issues with words like "Work" and "Walk".

Plurals fuck with Japanese people as well. I've been living in the US for 16 years now and I still fuck it up. But my Japanese foundation seems to give me an advantage over many monolingual English speakers. :horny:
