sup i was watching the rise and rise of biggie and we all know that biggie didnt write his raps and that it was straight of the top of his head. well wen the part about pac comes up and all bigs people are saying that pac took who shot ya all wrong why did one of them say that big had wrote it b4 the shooting??? i thought he didnt write his songs.
jus had to post this cause shit dont add up and if ive missed summit someone correct me.

I wouldn't say that he never wrote. I'm sure he did, but he just thought of stuff in his head for a while then rapped it rather than writing it down. I don't have the issue in front of me (since it's at home and I'm at work), but in a back issue of VIBE with Pac and Biggie on the cover and quotes from their friends, I think it was DJ Premier who said that in the recording studio, specifically for the session where they did "Unbelievable", they gave Biggie a notepad, but he just took it and rolled his weed on it. He listened to it a few times, then laid his verses. I also remember reading somewhere (maybe in the same magazine) that he didn't really write down any lyrics from Life After Death, and that he thought up the lyrics and just kept it in his head.

Buy a DVD called Freestyle - The Art Of Rhyme. Its a great investment.

It shows and talks about how Biggie would often take lines from his freestyles and them use them for his retail verses - not the other way round as most people assume.

Also has the footage of Pac & Big freestyling.

Or maybe Big already made the lyrics at home or some place and remembered the verse in the studio? the only difficult part would be to get the flow right but that isnt hard either.

Alot of rappers do that, even me.
I believe that Pac also had methods like this to keep his recording sessions as minimal and fast as possible.

The craig mack vinyls are the best, they got some crazy shit on there! I remember the first time I seen that he had this version of ready 2 die, i was goin crazy, i was like whoa where the fuck you get this!! It has a promo poster of Biggie inside it n everything!!!
