It was a set up by a terrorist and a his partner (a female) that made the rest of the crew doubt that she was with a daughter. Then he kidnapped her and the mother found that out and it turned into the usual terrorists vs good guys drama that we've seen A MILLION TIMES!!!!

Really lame movie!

I saw it in the cinema in LA back in October.

1 of the shittest least realistic, most unbelievable films I've seen.

The whole thing was a setup so she'd take the fall, including killing her husband. You are fucking joking.

Indeed. I actually felt insulted cause they can't really expect me to believe that kind of shit do they? Who would believe that anyway?

The standard on movies have gone downright to hell....

I still want to know how the hell she didint die when the bomb went off, but the movie was entertaining, it was ok.
They didn't explain it but the fact that Jodie Foster's character said "we'll be safe in here" lead me to believe that the area she went into was behind a firewall of some kind.

The movie was ok. Foster's performance was good and the story thrilled me enough to keep me interested.

I do agree that there are some weak points in the plot but I don't think it has anything to do with the currernt "standards".

Well, I can't believe that NO ONE actually saw her daughter. it's not like she came in from backstage. Someone probably saw her and her daughter. And the terrorist almost convinced her that she don't have a daughter, that's crazy! It was too far-fetched, the whole movie.

Yeah. I agree that there are weak points and I agree that there are bad movies being made but I disagree with statements like " The standard on movies have gone downright to hell".. You're not the only one to think so. I can tell that a lot of members think Hollywood is garbage nowadays. Why? Maybe because only good movies withstand the test of time. Everyboy has forgotten about the bad movies from the past, so the past seems better. 20 years from now people won't remember the bad movies of today and talk about how "garbage Hollywood" is.

I think it's the same for other art as well. Nobody talks about MC Joe Schmoe's 1995 debut album and how wack it was.. instead they talk about All Eyez On Me and how great the mid-90's was for hip hop and complain about the current state of hip hop even though there are some good albums being released.

Hollywood is dead
Hip Hop is dead
blah blah blah

I agree. Look at the films out now. Brokeback Mountain, Capote, Syriana, Munich, Lucky Number Slevin, The Matador, Good Night and Good Luck, The Weatherman, Walk The Line...people look past films like these, see Big Momma's House 2 and Date Movie and start hyperventilating and claiming that the film industry is a steaming pile of shit.

^Yeah I agree with those. But I also think that we tend to expect great movies (not just great acting) from the top actors. This was a lot of hype for Jodie Foster, and I think they could've made it a lot better than what it was.

At first I thought that the whole airplane was in on it, and that one young female flight attendant was gonna be the mole who helped her somewhere along the line. It made a bad turn when it turned out to be like 2 people. How believable is that?
