This was the supreme court ruling granting abortion rights to women. There has been alot of talk of it getting reversed with Bush reelected.

I am pro choice. I do not condone abortions and dont feel like it should be a first resort...but there are cases of rape, illness, incest where the women has the right to terminate an unborn child.

I also believe that there comes a point in time where the abortion should not be performed. When the cells have turned into an actual living fetus. Theres no reason for someone to take so much time to decide to terminate a pregnancy. Chances are if it took 7 months to make the decision, that person struggled with her choice and therefore I feel adoption is a better choice. I am against partial birth abortions.

Pro-choice! When Bush is carrying & birthing everybody's kids then he can fucking take the 'moral high ground' on what everybody does with their bodies.

Maybe it's just me, but so often it appears that these 'pro-lifers' are these fucking rednecks (yes Bush is one) who love how 'free' the American people are & love their guns & yet the same set of 'good ol' boys' want to take people's freedom from them.

Not to be an 'I.T dickryder', as this board calls it, but it's just like he said - 'pro-lifers who support the death penalty' - fucknig hypocrites.

Maybe Bush should get Americans fed, sheltered & employed before he starts fucking around with this shit. There is also the Iraq situation, Vietnam situation, global warming situation, WMD situation....

I don't think I have anything to add to that, that's pretty much exactly my position. Abortion shouldn't be encouraged, but it should be an option. People might say it's cruel to terminate an unborn child, but it's even crueller to bring one into the world with nobody to care for it.

^^ also co-sing. What about situations where the mothers life is in danger because of the pregnancy. Also rape and other issues such as when there maybe congential problems involved. (I know some who has 3 children disable, this is a congenital problem, doctor has told them if the chances of another child being disable is very high')

I agree completly. I believe in abortion cause what is a bigger crime then to force a women (or parents) to have a child they don't want to? This is like the biggest crime there is, cause does we (as society) give this child I fair chance later in life? I don't think so, it's true, maybe this child is happy one day, but I just see the chances very low and so......no, to force a unborn child to be born when noone wants it....that's terrible.......

And I agree that there should be a time limit. 7 months is way to late man, in many countries it's like 4 months.....and I think that's good......

i'm pro-life AND anti-bush, anti-death penalty, anti-war, anti-guns, and sure as hell ain't no redneck

I never called anybody a redneck bar Bush. & I used the word 'often' so as to be open to both sides of the coin. Still think you in the minority though.

Yes I agree. Many of these obsessive pro-lifers, pro gun lobbyists, wouldnt hesitate to refer to a black man as a "nigger". Ive seen these walking contradictions personally in Alabama(Love AMERICA! though) when they asked me and one of my friends how we have friends who are black and jews.

i feel like this if the mothers life is endager, rape, incest, or some other horrible thing that is going to cause the child nothing but pain then ok, what i dont believe is the dumb trick who's just screwing around unprotected gets pregnant an doesnt feel like birthing a child or being a mother understand the rules before you play the game. And in the other corner i feel the mans voice should be heard also, it takes two to make a child doesnt matter that the woman is the carrier she did not procreateon her own. Bottom line i dont believe in abortion for people who are just foolish an dont protect themselves, respect your self and live with the consquenses of your actions, i have 2 children that i never planned for an were totally unexpected but i cant picture life without em.

im with u on this one- it should be a final resort tho. The other issue is, how young should a girl/woman be to make this decision? In the UK a while ago, a 14 year old (i think she was 14, she was under 16) girl had an abortion without her parents knowing, the school nurse helped her with it. Should parents have the right to know if their under-age daughter is having an abortion?
-personally i think a definate yes, they should know, and that any girl under the age of 16 should have parents acknowledgement at least.

Of course you shouldnt have unprotected sex, I'm with you right there, but what if it happend? Should we really punish a child (if it's not wanted here and we still force it to be) cause the parents didn't give attention? I don't think so.....

Adoption should be encouraged ahead of abortion.

I also agree with the point about men having a say in the issue, but I don't know exactly how much of a say. If they impregnate a woman, they should have to share the responsibility with her. If she opts to keep the child and he wants nothing to do with it, I do think he should have to support it in some way. But what if the man objects to the woman having an abortion? It's his child as well. But can you really make a woman go through pregnancy and child birth because someone else doesn't want her to have an abortion?

Well I can tell you from experience that when I first had sex the girl I had it with at the time ended up missing her period for like 2 weeks. I couldnt eat, sleep, think...it was horrible. THeres no way a 17 year old like myself would be able to provide for that kid and the girl, well she was unstable to begin with. She was on all sorts of antidepressants and her mother had HUGE mental problems and her father was abusive. Of course the first thougght in my head was abortion. The child wouldve been born into a storm. I was an irresponsible child and while I took precautions i wasnt responsible enough to even be havin sex in the first place. Luckily the crazy girl got her period. PHHHEWWWW but i feel for others in that position those 2 weeks SUCKED

I'm pro-choice, but I think steps should be made to decrease the number of abortions. We need to come up with ways of making the situations less frequent and make sure the parents are aware of the alternate options when it does occur. I'm also a big proponent of the morning after pill. But I don't think it'd be right to stop abortions entirely because there are situations that are appropriate for such measures.

I bet that 90% of the people who are pro life also support capital punishment.

I'm pro-choice and against the death penalty in all cases. Maybe that's a contradiction too.
